5.1+Headset Config, Hercules Help?
OK... just for the hell of it... went out and picked up what appears to be a widely enjoyed headset.. 19 bucks.. can't go wrong... i had a choice between 2 models by the same company for the same price.. only difference? one was a single ear and the other stereo...
ANYWAYS... back to what i need info on.... i've never used a combination setup.... i KNOW it possible to work with the hercules cards to seperate the 7/8th channel from the rest for pure headset usage.... being that say, i can game in 5.1 surround sound while keep everything seperate from the headset .... But to do this, i'm not sure.... i probably requires settings the first 6 channels as one audio device... and the 7/8th plus MIC for another... then configuring it in teamspeak... I know this can be done... i just haven't a clue how... lol... I know an easy was is to say get another sound card or turn on onboard sound... WHICH i really don't want to do if i know for a fact that my current card is powerfull enough to do it...

Probably reading this wrong but I'll try anyway
just put the headset plug in 7/8 and the mic in mic, you can leave it in all the time & choose which one you need

no i think hes saying he wants to use them both at same time. Only voice chat from TeamSpeak program comes out of headphones while at the same the game is coming out of the speakers in surrond sound. The mic is attacked to the headphones because it is a headset
I have no idea how this would be posible. I would just use a regular mic and surrond speakers, besides the headphones would insulate the game noise. I understand what ur doign cus headsets are convenient becasue u can just talk and not have to like itnentionally speak into anything. What I did when playing Desert Combat in a clan was just use like a cheap clip on mic on the shirt collar. It'll pick up ur voice and ppl will be able to understand u very clearly cus u arent breathing into the mic which happens a lot with headset users. |

yeah well that would be cool if you could figure it out, but I never had any feedback problems using my little clip on mic, it only picked up me talking and I doubt much of anything from speakers, just throwing out an option. If you figure out how to get ti working that would be cool though.
