Did you dissable EAX?
That could be giving you the echo & heavier bass.

I fully uninstalled kx drivers.. I restarted installed the Pax drivers and restarted....

then I got a hizzing sound at normal volume levels...

music sounded ahhh kinda awful.
dont see any options... pax drivers dont come with option or anything in the start menu.

if you do modded drivers do it properly. hizzing sound... where the hell did that come from... these drivers might break my soundcard or something...

close Analog CD and LINE IN option if you have hissing. that may figure out hissing output for this unique driver.

powerdvd not so good, lota guys say this software is not stable. after you install Audigy2 ZS driver or PAX driver, you'd better use WINDVD. Creative readme files also says using windvd is your best choice. after you installed WinDVD, click setting→Audio→Digital souncard (S/PDIF) output and enable 96KHz/24 decoding.

Classic leon:

ok. now i will post the method to softmod "SB Live 4.1 upgrade SB Live 5.1"
very easy:
you just connect pin 19 of your SB LIve's extent slot and S/PDIF IN pin of any soundcard(it must have S/PDIF function. i.e. nForce soundcard of nForce MainBoard) by a wire. each of souncards has to be installed driver; your SB Live is primary card, the card you find is secondary card. then you set "record" to "S/PDIF" on the sound panel of secondary soundcard. but you need to install YouP PAX driver first.
then you SB Live 4.1 is SB Live 5.1.
the method can be also used on all models of Audigy2 sound card to let Audigy2 connect 7.1 speaker, but i haven't try it on Audigy2 series, after i do i am going to notice the steps

what kind of wire are you talking about? i use the wire that connects my cdrom and onboard soundcard... is it okay? and how can i set "record" to "spdif" on my realtek alc655 onboard sound? pls help... i really want to mod my sblive ct4830 to 5.1.

This is what i did... i go to control panel then clicked "sounds and audio devices" and at the audio tab i set the sound playback to sb live (it shows as SB live! Audio C000) and sound recording to realtek ac97 audio.. then i click on the volume and checked the spdif box... is this right?

and where will i connect the center/subwoofer cable of my headset (im using zalman theatre6 5.1 headphone)

Yes, this way is to let you use your realtek ac97'DAC to convert digital sound signal of center to analog signal to speaker. Make sure you set right, that "spdif out" of SBLIVE lined to "spdif in" of your alc655, and set sound recording to realtek ac97 audio as you said.

Connecting zalman theatre6 5.1 headphone is the same as you connect 5.1 speaker. center/subwoofer cable must be connected to the green jack(the 2.1 line out jack) of your alc655.

I think you can set them on Surround Mixer/Advance.
Actually this is not "true 5.1" after DIY, it means your soundcard work as "5.0" +mixed "0.1" from "5.0". The true 5.1 provided 6 channels of analog output("0.1", the woofer is a singal channel which does not mixed with "5.0", satellites), but now you have 5 channels; because, "4.1" is also not true 4.1("0.1" comes from "4"), it has 4 channels too(4.0+mixed 0.1), you yourself did a DAC to add a channel for your soundcard. But you are using ear phone, even though you have 5.1 of 6 channel, the ear phone will mix 5.0 and 0.1, it will not effect your sound quality .

Gaming and EAX question.

I started to install this driver and read in the installation notes it is for music improvement only, I don't listen to music much, mostly gaming. Will I benefit from using this driver and can I install it over the .442 that came with the A2-ZS-Pax.exe software. Or should and can I install the offical .444 from creative instead. Everything is working great so I don't want to mess it up.
Using an audigy2 on XP with sp2.
Thank you CL and youP for your efforts!!!

Yes, you can. There was an old thread which has fallen down and explained the way you install the offical driver on Audigy2. You may search this forum for the post to get .442 A2ZS drivers and mod them manually to lead drivers recgonize the soundcard.

But It is possible to directly install the pack and the drivers on Audigy2 by using A2-ZS-Pax.exe, and then your Audigy2 will be recgonized as Audigy2 ZS with Microsoft Publisher. That is why You Piao made this sofeware pack. If you wanna use .444 driver, you just download Creative .443 update and .444 update, then you only install A2-ZS-Pax.exe and discircle all opions except "windows driver" before update to .443 and .444. And then install A2-ZS-Pax.exe while discircle "windows drivers". You know what i mean? hehe

Just installed these drivers after a fresh format with XP Pro + SP2 on my Audigy 2 OEM, so far everything's running fine...

A couple of questions:

1) Is there a special method to uninstall them? Coz the installer mentioned that it modifies sytem files; can I just use CTZAPXX.exe to uninstall them like official Creative drivers?

2) In the Sound Blaster Audigy 2 series, only the Audigy 2 ZS and ZS Platinum support 24 bit ASIO support. Do these drivers enable 24 bit ASIO support on my Audigy 2?

1) It is possible if you use YouP-PAX 2.18 to remove them. But choose normal uninstall instead of restoring system option.
2) Audigy2 and Audigy2 ZS have the same ability for playback. You install Audigy2 ZS drivers or YouP-PAX 2.66a modded drivers on your Audigy2, then it can enable.

what's the difference between this and YouP PAX 3.33?
it seems that this driver doesn't support Audigy 2 Value?
