Can you put your own tunes on the iPOD or do you have to get them from iTunes? Both look nice though

of course you put our own ones on it. rip a cd and put it on there. downloads... ![]() etc...nobody would buy an ipod if you had to buy every song on itunes... that would cost a bomb to fill a 20GB Ipod

well I was reading the I revolution website and it seem the karma is quiete high on the odd HD failure... more then my creative product or ipods....
I then saw their "Experience with RMA" thread... it seems waiting for over 2 months after you send it in for repair is pretty common.... dam I not gonna deal with that crap and gonna get an iriver... well the iRiver H140 looks not so great but after thinking about it its the best mp3 player... and sony's mp3 player oh HI-MD

when I go to concerts or clubbing I wear ProPlugs.. they cut th evolume by 18% or so and bring everything down to acceptable levels! they also dont distort sound and they cut out more high frequenzy sounds then low freq. I am trying to protect my ear.... MY g/f on the other hand..... I have been trying so so hard making her listen to her music at normal volume but she does not listen and she has it so loud that when I put it into my ears I have to take the headphones straight out again.

I have bought an iPod, and so I voted iPod. I prefer it mostly because of AAC support, which you mention you don't need. I use my Sennheiser HD437 instead of default headphones with it, and it's mostly OK.

one thing i really like about the iRiver is the fade-in option - it will fade in when you resume play from 0 to the level you set it at before, so if someone was listening to it really loud you don't go deaf as soon as it starts to play, it gives you a chance to lower the volume before the fade-in is complete

ok got mine to and was looking at the interface and listening to the sample song (I am not home
)yeah nice interface.. seems simple enough but you do need to get used to it. the thing is not as heavy and big as I thought it would be too... which is nice.. and it is not ugly... though I do not like the joystick look but hey the features of this baby and the remote are nice... cant wait to copy 20GB of music or so on it when I get home... and play cs source... (dam 2 things at ones)

There is a tool called euPod which can boost volume, but not decrease it. BTW, there is a new firmware (for 4th gen iPod at least) on Apple's site, so you might want to experiment with it: http://www.apple.com/ipod/download/ |
