??? Is there a way to switch front/rear channels with any creative drivers? (SB-Live)

I'm running with the kX Project drivers with very few problems on overall, but wonder if I should perhaps take a shot at installing the Audigy2 drivers like the sticked thread descirbes. But there is one feature from the kX driver that I could not do without, and that is the ability to switch the front and rear channels on the card. Is there any way to do that while using a Creative Labs driver? The card is a plain SB Live.

my guess would be to use the CMSS function… upmixes stereo signal - so it is technically the "copy" function of the kX surrounder

Ah yes, the CMSS function sounds logical. Should at least work fine with music and movies. Though this also reminds me of the kX drivers excellent ability to remix 5.1 content to stereo with a result better than more basic audio switching routines. I feel like I would really want a 'hard' way of switching front and rear channels in the Creative drivers to make it worthwile.

i think that being used to the kX drivers… going back to creative would be so limited in what you can do

The sound quality on a SB-Live card is significantly better on the rear port than on the front. At least with a decent speaker system one will not want to go back. The kX Project drivers has a simple switch for it.
