EMU emulator x.
ive just got an emu 1212m with emulator x, sound quality seems good.anyone using these cards for audio?.
btw. I have a heavilly tweaked system and the emulatorx protection didnt even work to start with on my system and you dont need the cd it has never even asked for it ... protections are so annoying.its funny how these companies waste their time on protection that doesent even work.(creative must have wrote it.!!!..)

creative owns e-mu so i wouldn't be surprised… you should know that any of the hardware effects applied will only ever be 16/48 due to h/w limitations, but the rest of the card should be fine

I have an E-mu 0404 coming in the mail. It supposedly has a more aggressive sound than the 1212m, but it isn't as good. However, for only half the price and minor differences in sound quality, it is a fine deal. As much as I hate Creative, this card seems like a nice one, so I thought I'd give it a whirl.
From what I can tell, most people agree that these cards sound much better than VIA Envy24 based cards (like the Revolution, Prodigy, etc). This also means that it sounds MUCH better than an Audigy 2.

afaik the 0404 is pretty much the same hardware wise as the other three cards, but with out all the extra addon cards/breakout boxes.
Same DSP, same adc/dac converters etc

no its not an emulator, that is just the name of the soundcard - btw it uses the same DSP chip as the audigy 2, so you have to remove the a2 drivers before you install the Emu card

Mmmmm. . . the card sounds mighty fine. Now if I had something better than these Klipsch speakers, it would really rock.

I want two cards also....
Hi, I'm a newb here.....
I have the 1212 with emulator X and would like to run it with my audigy 2 is it possible to have these cards co-exist in the same system? I'm already having driver issues no crashes yet! thought i'd ask some experts on this before trying my wild ideas! thanks

remove the a2 drivers completely, install the 1212 drivers, and then CL… hopefully that will work
otherwise follow Samir's advice and install kX on the Audigy 2
