MediaSource installation problem
Hi all,
OK, i'm installing the ZS drivers with an Audigy 2 and have done this in the past without a problem. However, I've recently uninstalled them and want to do a reinstall. The problem is that when I go to install MediaSource from from the patched ZS cd files the bar goes from 5 to 9% then ends. Also MediaSource is not listed in add/remove afterwards. Is there a way to uninstall MediaSource from the registry so that it reinstalls properly??? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks |

First uninstall all Creative things which you are able to uninstall. Then go to registry to delete "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Creative Tech" and delete "C:\Program Files\Creative".
Then install the A2 ZS pack. if the installation is still ended, click Ctrl+Alt+Delete check whether there is a remote control; if yes, end it then the installation will continue; If no, try other cracked pack of A2ZS.

Thx, I will give them a try.
A quick question, what do you mean by 'remote control', a process called 'remote control'? Quote:

Just downloaded the file, clicking the .exe does nothing, renaming to .rar .iso or .bin won't extract. Did the file get corrupted or is there another way run this???
Edit: Re-downloaded - OK now ![]() Cheers Last edited by inert; Sep 21, 2004 at 11:02 AM. |

Hi Leon thanks for the file,
Ok I deleted the registry entry and the c:\program files\creative folder as you said. I got the A2-ZS-PAX.exe file - when I went to install the driver it got to 95% and then it gave me an error saying that RegSvr.exe could not find the file Plxcore.plx and then it closed. The MediaSource installation (the only thing I ticked was the skin pack) got to 18% then closed. EDIT: OK, uninstalled everything and got a Plxcore.plx file and put it in C:\Program Files\Shared Files then reinstalled. This time the driver install went ok, now the driver works great and the bass is good. However, MediaSource is still not working - I have the icon in my tray but when I right-click nothing comes up. None of the consoles work apart from AudioHQ, Diagnostics, THX Console and Speaker Caliberator (when I access them from the Start Menu), the rest dont do anything when clicked. It passes all of the diagnostic tests to there's no problem with the driver. Also, while setting up the Creative Control Panel it wasn't working, I realised this was because I dont have the ...\creative\sbAudigy2\program\wdm\common\ctpanel. exe that it needs. I don't even have the 'common' folder ! Is there a way I can get these consoles to work??? Would appreciate some help here as I'm out of ideas on how to get these consoles back EDIT: Ok, did a repair install and that seems to have fixed them, they're all back Thanks again. I'm using a Chinese Windows xp, so I don't know what exactly mean by "remote control" in English for my translation.
You got "95%" and stopped, 'coz you didn't discycle the option "windows driver" while you started the installation. What you need to do is install YouP-PAX 2.66a first. link: http://www.hardwareheaven.com/audio-general-technical-discussion/53467-let-your-audigy2-become-hi-fi.html second, clean all Creative things as what i say and what you think of. third, click A2-ZS-PAX.exe to install software package(don't choose the windows driver) Then your card run as A2ZS and you have all upgraded patches.

Thanks Leon - i'll give that a try.
Should I uninstall everything Creative from my system before installing YouP-PAX 2.66a for the first time? Last edited by inert; Sep 22, 2004 at 06:40 AM. |
