Hey guys, I recently built a computer for a guy, and I was a fool and didn't test the audio before I shipped. Now it's half a continent away from me and his sound doesn't work
. Is there something I should know about the nforce2 ultra-400 chipset to get the audio working? I figured it would just be plug and play, but apparently not. James |

it would also help if we saw screenshots of any error messages, and the relevant device manager devices (perhaps an unknown device)

Jumpers?
Which jumpers are you talking about? I never touched anything other than looked over them with the manual to check out where they were all suppose to be. I didn't remember audio jumpers though.
Edit: there are no error messages, there's just no sound coming out of his speakers when he has a song turned up. James |

Unless you bought NF7-S2? if you haven't disabled audio devices in CMOS?
Or speakers are dud? Test speakers in another computer.

Is that MCP or MCP-T? If it only uses MCP, better try AC 97 driver from Realtek first
