SB LIVE! 5.1 Digital problem

Hey yall, received a sound card from my friend. I enjoy using EAX mode on my games as it adds to the realness, however, i have a problem. When playing these games, i get repeating sound, maybe just 1 or 2 seconds. For example, playing Call of Duty:UO, ill hear a tank track spin for the amount of time specificed above. in AA ill hear my bullet casings drop on the ground, but at a very high pitch at low sound, for 1-3 seconds. Anyone know the problem?

Ive searched the creative knowledge base and came up with a few answers, but have been wary and confused and what to do.

did you try disabling EAX to see if htis was the issue?

well, yea, if you disable EAX, the repeating sound goes away. I fixed that problem, however, another occured. My microphone isnt working, but i can hear just fine, im using the latest version of the kx drivers. This is really starting to piss me off.

edit: i fixed it.

using kX? it doesn't have EAX support

hah, that explains alot...anyway, was having my sound feedthrough my mic. i am using headphones, plantronic audio 90's, good set, 1-2 week old. Very Strange, trashed the kx drivers, back to creative, but whenever i turn on eax with them, the fps seems to drop a tad.

Are there any newer drivers out for my card? Ive search but to no avail...
