Help with SB Live 5.1 Digital (SB0220) - No EAX/surround/AC3

Hi People,

I have an SB Live Digital 5.1 (SB0220) - and Yesterday I got surround speakers (5.1) - and I have majour propblems.

The speakers are connected correctly, but I have no EAX in games, I try to set it up but it just doesn't catch.

If I play with the EAX control panel, the setting there do work (Chappel, garage, etc) - but not in games - I tired it on and off...

Also AC3 audio is delayed and there is a very noticable hiss...

I tired running RightMark3DSound and it doesn't let me do EAX 1/2 or even hardware -DX. I have made sure that hardware acceleration is at max and I have the last (?) drivers, in anycase when I try to use the Auto-update wizard on Creative's site it says I'm up to date.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

what drivers u have installed, did u try kx drivers?

I have the latest CREATIVE drivers for my card, I didn't try the KX because they don't do EAX, if I understand correctly.

I'm trying to re-install the creative drivers, if it won't work I will try the Audigy 2 mod - maybe this will get me EAX.

I'm so pissed that creative, for a while I thought that my card can do 5.1+ Eax 2 in games... Now I realise they don't suport it anymore... ;-(((

Did you uninstall and delete all things to your uninstallation? If you wanna use mod driver, use modded SBLive! drivers and don't use Audigy2 modded. Audigy2 modded drivers run basing on EAX4, which is able to let your sound hiss.

firstly you will not get 5.1 sound in AC-3 on a live!unless the source was recorded in 1c3

Yeah mate,
I'm playing AC3 DIvx files, and SVCD they have AC3 decoded content, no?

ac3 divx should, svcd afaik is stereo

Hi People,
Now my system is all messed up... ;-))

At first I installed the KX drivers so I'll be able to play some music...
It worked fine. Than I uninstalled them (or so I thought - did it through the shortcut).

Than I tired installing the NeaYear's package - which I installed, but not properly - it was in chinease.

I than tried to install it manually, from the uncompressed files, and installed the card from the windows device manager, it identified it correctly at PAX live 5.1 - but than none of the software worked, I tired re-installing them as well but to no avail.

The wird thing is that when I look in the sounds and speakers control panel it says that me wave device is Kx - but I thought I removed it?

Now I'm trying to DL [color=#1741bb]YouP-PAX-VI-Ultra.exe and follow the guide...

[color=White]I will try to remove ALL software and drivers before installling that.

I really don't know what to do... quite desparate actually...

All I want is bloody working surround and EAX 2 in games...

If you are running Windows XP, Turn off System Restore uninstall all drivers and software, and then use Driver Cleaner (Driver Cleaner can be found here on DH) to completely uninstall kX and Creative drivers.

Hi people.

I've managed to install the PAX drivers and I have the EAX console and Cmms working properly. Also I run the creative diagnostics and it says everything is fine.

I STILL DON'T HAVE EAX1/2 IN GAMES!!!!

this drives me nuts! I tried to reinstall DirectX but to no avail.

Also, when I run Dxdiag it says that my card doesn't have 3D hardware support?

Anyone has any idea? please? ;-)

ANyone has any suggetsions? How do I get EAX to work? or Direct X to recognise hardware buffer?

I don't want to buy a new sound card nd in any case I don't want to buy another CREATIVE. Do you people know any good sound card with good support for games that is not made by creative?
