the SB Live! series is locked at 16/48
if it is a SB Live! Digital (SB0060, SB010x) then you already have 5.1 analog out (the digital jack doubles as an analog output in analog mode)

for the 5.1 analog thing
what i meant was for the mic/line in to be changed over to line outs so i can have the left/right channels seperate for the front and the rear |

the jacks are ahrd-wired, you can't change them. But you already have 5.1 - what do you mean about seperate for the front and rear?

it will say nothing, as it will detect the card now, if it doesnt you probably need the correct ID for your card, i know the ctcomp file says 5.1 cards are 00801061, 00801062, 00801064, 00801069, 0080106A, 0080106B, 0080106C, 00801065 but i had to add mine taht is 00801067, its also mising 00801066 and 00110001, u need your correct ID for the setup to work

u can see that on the device manager, or u can extract it from your original software installation, using the same i6comp trick

the only benefits are extra features like later eax versions, control panels etc

no better sound quality then...
i really need an audigy 2 zs now....i make music for gods sake i cant deal with this low quality stuff.. is there a diff between this guide and the one where you convert the sb live 5.1 into an audigy 1 because i remember it saying that you get higher khz like up to 96khz anybody have an extra audigy 2 on hand? maybe i can do something for it |
