Newbie Audigy 2 zs and Logitech Z-5500's

I should have reseached audio a little more, but the little I did do, I bought these.

Can anyone tell if they will work together?... I know, I know, stupid to buy then ask if they are compatible... but oh well.

Also, I'm not so sure I understand the purpose of the drive, when the sound card has ports too. I see that there are many more connection types on the drive though.

Any help would be appreciated.. thanks
