Default Post MP3's Skipping

I have an AthlonXP 1600, 512 DDR, Soltek DRV-4, SB Audigy, Win XP Professional

When listening to music in either winamp, play center, or sonique, every once in a while the song will skip ahead a second or two. It does it at random, but if I listen to 2 mp3s, it will usually skip 1-2 times

any ideas?

ive messed around with different drivers and nothing seems to work even tried kX drivers and i get the same probelm

Same thing happened to me. I narrowed it down to Winamp 2.8.... Its a bug in that version of winamp. I'd recommend you try Winamp 3 beta. It works without skipping.

Gee Mista Riv@!

If it's a problem with Creative's drivers how come that happens on my Duron machine with a hercules fortissimo???

Dumbass. It is a bug in Winamp 2.8, also in XMplay which is based off Winamp 2.8. It does it to WMA and MP3 files, you need to download the latest decompressors for things to work smoothly, .ogg files on the other hand play smoothly on both my systems.

But it's creative's drivers all the way! Ya, cuz they like suxxors!

Creative drivers suck. kX ones are so good, and I can't belive that someone who is actuall not making cards can make better drivers than someone who is making cards.

And maybe it is a problem of WA2.80 decompressor, but I never had problems with it.

BTW, my brother's Fortissimo II never had problems with skipping.

Good for him!

Go pimp your drivers elsewhere, meanwhile the rest of us will try to give objective help.

I try too. But, you must admit that Creative drivers suck.
