i can provide up to 300mb of space if you need it (though it'd be better if you condensed it to 200mb).

I'm thinking...if both Audigy 1 and 2 are basically the same except for different noise levels and frequency ratings...and they both use emu10k2...could I just download the audigy 2 update drivers from creative and have em work??

Yes, they are both 10k2, but A2 has some new components on board.

Both cards are definitely not the same although they may look it. Creative has been working hard on developing a Unified driver solution for their line of sound cards for a long time, but this doesn't mean that they use the same chipset. The Audigy2 line seems to be a departure from the EMUK101/102 based cards.



This chip seems to have been developed very quietly over at Creative. I'd like to find more info about it, but haven't been lucky so far.

I am 90% sure that it is not EMU10k3.
