Help my Audigy
Hey guys, I have an Audigy 1 model number 0090, the oem edition with the plastic connectors on the back of the card. Well I broke of the green analog output 1 from throwing my head phones at someone and it tore out the connector. It isn’t that big of a deal since I have been using the KX Project drivers for sometime now so that I could reroute the front speakers through the digital out. That happened almost 2 years ago and have been using KX without a problem ever since. But today I discovered that my setup has been wrong for awhile. My rear right speaker doesn’t seem to be on the proper channel. Sure when I go test it sounds right but when I play with the volume controls it isn’t the right one. I think I need to do some mixing in the DSP to reconnect my right rear speaker into the correct node. But the DSP is such a mess I don’t know where to start on that one. Is there a good guide out there on the DSP?
My second question is regarding other drivers beside KX. I have always been playing games with the KX but now that I have World of Warcraft it doesn’t sound right anymore. I want to try some drivers that are EAX enabled unlike the KX ones. I saw these YouP PAX here and have never heard of them before, is there a good place to grab more info on these in English? I was also thinking about turning my card into an Audigy 2 zs, will I be able to run my normal analog speakers on the digital out port like I am right now using the Kxs? Last time I tried the creative drivers doing that I couldn’t get it to work. So do the Audigy 2 zs drivers have a DSP where I can mix and match the different channels? So what it comes down to is how can I get drivers that are fully EAX enabled and run my front speakers on the digital out port?*note for speakers I have Klipsch Promedia 4.1 Last edited by dj_stick; Dec 11, 2004 at 01:35 AM. |

you're in the wrong forum if you want DSP guides, they're in the kX forum here
"normal analog speakers on the digital out port like I am right now using the Kxs" that would never work properly UNLESS the digital out port was also analog, or the speakers are digital capable

So then with my current setup it is fubared anyway and even with the KX drivers I am not actually geting the correct sound.
Well then for World of Warcraft should I just mod to a Audigy 2 zs and run headphones instead? Because I have had problems with crashing in WoW and am trying to track down the causes and am thinking the KX drivers might be the cause as it crashed from have a sound go in a infinite loop or just quits altogether and then crashes. |
