Have you removed all files including Creative's registry before install PAX drivers? Try remove all things which relate with sound card drivers and software. Then install PAX-New Year 1.1 again(don't fortget to press "cancel"
).BTW, Windows XP Professional Build 2600 was a leak version(Was it a frist release of windows? Don't know ). Maybe you have to use Windows XP Professional RTM ![]() Edit: You just wait for PAX-New Year 1.2 released. Is Windows XP Professional (5.1 Build 2600) a first release of winodwsXP? What number of "Build" was it after you updated your Windows?

try using Drivercleaner (link on the front page of this website) to remove all creative drivers, and try again

I have an Audigy2 ZS and my brother has Audigy2. We did same installprocedure on both machines, mine (ZS) works no problem. For him his pc freezes at startup when it gets into windows. Uninstalled drivers on his machine and put normal ones back and it works fine. He has bulk audigy2 i have retail audigy2 zs.
We removed all registry entires with jv16 powertools and used drivercleaner before installing the new year 1.1s. I am very happy with sound being clearer now, but feel that maybe the bass is misconfigured for 5.1 or something, since too much bass is coming to the little speakers and not the subwoofer.
