SBLive 24bit or SBAudigy LS?

Well, this thread is for some kind person that can answer my nooby quests.

1) Is Soundblaster 24 the same as Audigy LS? For EVEREST tells me that SB Live 24 has the Audigy LS processor...

2) Is directsound hw accelerated by Live 24?

3) Are there any modded drivers (or will be available) for this card? If EAX 3 is supported by software, why EAX 4 can't be? Is there any way to enable it?

4) Why you can't install Audigy Modded soft in SB Live 24? Is the BLACK SHEEP of the family?

I really want to help you, But the hardware has "limit". YouP made a set of modded drivers for Audigy LS, but these drivers were not satisfactory to YouP. Therefore, he didn't release this kind of drivers.

I looked at your rig, SB Live! Value will work with YouP new software and drivers. Maybe you can use it.

Sorry for beeing so annoying...

I only wanted to know if there will be any chance, because I purchased this card, thinking that youp live drivers will mod this card, and because de eax advanced hd feature that the SB Live Value hadn't. BUt now I see that It sounds good, but It doesn't have the emu101k chip...

The only thing I can say is that it was soooo cheap

I bouth mine because I don't want to spend any more money than needed right now, later I'm going for pcx1x-card..

So any information on modded drivers or any tweaks for this card,, would be nice...

the sb live 24 bit is most likely similiar to the audigy ls, but lower quality components

1. Everest tells the true - main processor is the same. PCBs of these cards are different, so there must be some other differences.

2. No hardware acceleration of any kind.

3. Never heard of it.

4. Cos these cards lack of EMU 10K DSP processor which is in all Live!/Audigy cards.

Yap, there are cheap a lot. So it's normal that they are abominations from creative.

So you recommend me to use motherboard Realtek ALC850, 8-channel CODEC instead of this card?

How much this slowers games if there none acceleration? I could get chance to trade this sb live! 24bit to sb live! 5.1, which one is better? I think this anyway..(and cmss 2x/3x stereo rocks

)

Well live 5.1 has not cmss at all, but accelerates EAX and directsound. If you are a gamer, I think live5.1 would be better but with that processor, I think It would be the same: you won't notice the acceleration or not.

the original live 5.1 DOES have CMSS, i used to have one

and it uses the 10k1 processor that allows for h/w acceleration

but i recommend if you can find one, an OEM Audigy ES
