NEW YEAR PACKAGE for SBLive/Audigy/Audigy2/Audgiy2ZS series

First of all, Leon, please pass along thanks for all the hard work to all the appropriate people who worked long & hard to bring these drivers to us.

Second, Leon, you say this latest driver supports the Gateway OEM Audigy 2 ZS. Hope you guys also managed to squeak in the Device ID for my Dell OEM Audigy 2 ZS as well. Guess I'll be finding out soon enough.

Third, and this is to everybody here complaining about working links and slow download speeds, use a download manager! ReGet Deluxe is pulling this driver package down for me at a brisk speed of 140 Kilobytes/second. Surely that's fast enough for even the most impatient here among us.

EDIT: ReGet Deluxe just kicked in a couple more mirrors so now I'm up to 190 Kilobytes/second. Use of a download manager that supports multiple threads across multiple mirrors is evidently the key to obtaining this driver package in a timely manner.

Hi all:

First let me say the new NewYear 2005 works for me. I'm satisfied to use it as my gaming driver, but I must clear up some confused things I said when comparing the YouP driver to kX.

After uninstalling the kX driver 3537 and installing this NewYear 2005 package, it became clear that my Audigy with the kX drivers sound louder and a considerable amount clearer than the YouP driver in this package.

But, this package and the YouP PAX ZS v3.89 drivers with it are a great package! It will be my choice for gaming with EAX. The way you all can make it for us older soundcard holders to use the newest Creative software and drivers with our older cards is just a fantastic thing! Thanks for the presentations of these packages.

The install for this package was similar to the 1st NewYear 2005 package (wait for the Creative splash screen and the black guy window to appear and dont click next on the update window til you install the software 1st), except the YouP PAX ZS v3.89 drivers are the Windows Driver selection that's listed with all the other Creative software upon doing a custom install (if you select the installation option with Audigy in it).

All the software seems to be running well for me. There is an ASIO driver in this package as well, and it seems to perform sastifactorily for small projects.

My unknown device problem was solved after I installed this package and updated the driver for the unknown device (had to browse to the NewYear 2005 foler on C drive).

I just hope if I ever choose to uninstall this pack, there will not remain an unknown device.

Installed them fine, but have lost my subwoofer? Well when I say lost, I can force the active sub on, but my sub has the ability to switch on and off as and when the bass is needed. Now I have to keep it on all the time for the bass to be driven, also the THX console does not pick up the sub no matter what

It seems that the low end bass has been lost somewhat in this version? The 1.2 drivers were fine

Bass redirection seems to have zero effect

haha, now watch my servers burn! I'll have to prevent access to the file before I reach my daily 5GB limit. I can reach my limit only 3 times per month or else I get kicked.

I recommend using a download manager with mirror support, such as getright, because you may be downloading when I pull the plug.

Sometime tommorow I will probably get a fast (2MB up connection) for bittorrent going. It has no bandwidth limit.

I downloaded the newyear package and i installed it... Everything works fine BUT i only have 4.1 speaker output... Without subwoofer...
Thats maybe my card is 4.1 (CT4620) but is there a way to fix the subwoofer?

OK, just done a load of testing on a clean install.... Subwoofer management is broken in this set. The old version works fine, but whatever has changed in this version breaks it. Nearly lost a clean windows install....

I dont think so Socio, this NewYear 2005 package has YouP PAX ZS v3.89 drivers, but I was using Creative_PAX-NewYearv1.2 drivers with the first NewYear 2005 package (I think these drivers made users' soundcards sound louder overall (including subwoofer) without having to adjust the volume). However, this new NewYear 2005 package sounds good.

Sorry classic leon, if I'm using inappropriate names for these driver packages. We'll get the names right sooner or later.

After digging inside my case on the circuit board is marked SB0350.

This is the Dell OEM version of the Audigy 2 ZS that comes in the Dell XPS Gen 4 system.

In the Windows XP Device Manager on the Details tab for the sound card is this information for the Device Instance ID:

PCI\VEN_1102&DEV_0004&SUBSYS_20061102&REV_04\4&104 16D21&0&08F0

And for the Hardware IDs:

Just let everone know I do have official gateway audigy 2 sound card not ZS version mine only 6.1 sound card

Mine was official modded to ZS

I tried this package and wasn't extremely impressed tbh. Not to discredit classic_leon or anything as I'm sure alot of people will appreciate this package. I was actually hoping to be able to use all the new software (i.e. the mixer) though some of it seems to be the same as the old Audigy 2 ZS software and not from the Audigy 4. The only benefit in this package depending on your preferences is the modified driver but I wasn't really impressed with that either. Too many little issues to make it worthwhile.

I have problems installing the LIVE NewYear Mod for my SBLive!.

I did as told in the first post deleted the one file, rebootet, unistallled the driver, rebootet again , installed the new one.

when the installer comes to the audigy 2 driver it says: "found no audigy 2 card" and therefore only installs the creative media player.

what did i do wrong?

OK, as these been out few days, i got to ask, i got zero probs on previous pax build all installed apart from entertainment centre as i got non plat ZS, every aspect works of my apps, would i gain anything upgrading to these or they just bug fixes for most and addding live cards to hardware. ?

Well I have been try to install the package for about two hours and no matter what I do it will NOT install the driver portion, it will install the programs part just not the drivers so I am going to have to give up on this for now.

On the ZS i took advise in this thread to not use 1.2 newyear driver in pax as it buggy, and use the original 1.2 newyear standalone driver, install, reboot then run pax with option that installs apps but no driver.

That one gives you a choice between games or music this new is suppised to do both I believe, so I would think it the better choice.

Yes do what it says early in this thread when pax was new, delete all use driver cleaner pro, install that driver as standalone, then reboot and do pax with apps no driver option.

Kill antivirus at install

Ok I might have to do it that way,

I re-downloaded the 2005 package and tried to install again and it worked everything seems to be working except the driver for the SoundFont Synth, if I can fix that I might just keep this version instead otherwise I will do as you said.

Edit: I was able to fix the SoundFont Synth by doing the install again, then stopping it after it unpacked everything and then pointed windows to the driver in the unpacked 2005 New Year folder. Now everything seems to be working fine including THX console and my 7.1 surround speakers.

I do have one question,

At the end of the install there is a list of extra updateable stuff with check boxes, it looks like those updates are NOT for ZS owners just Live and Audigy 1-2 owners. is that correct?
