The links to the file on file4, sc, and szqwbn have been broke from the start. Why bother posting them if they've never worked? The rest either don't respond or time the transfer out after only a short while. file2 appears particularly useless. The torrent links are just as bad.

Hey. Just pointing out the facts. I don't see much point in people refering to a bunch of links that don't work. I'm trying to download manager the file from file2 right now. It's coming along slowly, but has timed out several times over the last week. Lame.

I have 50% of it so far. Only another 8 hours according to the DL manager. file2 is sad. It tries to disconnect me every 10 minutes, almost like clockwork.

sorry to repost this..
I'm using Audigy Gamer. Finally finished download the whole package. The version I downloaded is the february release. By following the instructions, the installation was successful! ![]() I find few difference things compared to what was said in the first page. 1. During installation there's no option to select whether the youP driver is Music or Game focus 2. For my audigy installation, there's no Creative DVD-Audio Player 3. There's no DTS:NEO6 settings in CMS also can someone pls enlighten me on this? Was it because I downloaded the later version which is a bit difference from what Leon described on first page? |

its not A2 apps although youP uses A2 as the base and then patch it to A4 Pro suites. As for faster download, try reading few page back from this thread.. some good guys are sharing it on BT |

I have an Audigy. I have the newest NewYear 2005 package installed, and I have something called Creative Mediasource Player. It plays mpeg, mpg, and avi, but I dont think it plays DVD. I put a DVD in and it wont play it. I know classic leon wrote "Audigy series sound card has entire functionality including Creative DVD-AUDIO player but DTS decoding." But, I dont know what that means.
I have the soundfont bank manager. It can be opened from Media source Go. I can play soundfonts using it standalone. And, I can play soundfonts in SONAR (a sequencer I have) by selecting the Creative MIDI Synths as the MIDI track output. I dont know what you mean when you say "Creative SoundFont Sync midi device." But, when I use the Creative MIDI synths in SONAR, my midi and audio are in sync.

iitMy advice to fellow SB Live users (I have a CT4830) is to stick with the January NewYear sblive pack. The new ones do have newer apps but you typicalls just get to see the user interface and click on buttons as almost none of the functionality works. Also, there are a lot of errors in most apps. Not to discredit classic_leon & co. (I just wanted to put my experience forward!).
For me, the jan release works perfect! |

![]() So I think the february version of the NewYear2005 package has no DVD-Audio player for Audigy cards. When I checked the extracted package, there is the installer for DVD-Audio player.. but it just don't install for Audigy cards. Quote:
" You can get this new MIDI device, "Creative SoundFont Synth" works with YouP PAX NewYear 1.2 drivers pictures above present the package works with Audigy 1 sound card. " |

question for classic_leon or anyone who knows
Here is the situation :
- now, using Audigy 2 with official Creative drivers ; - during this week planing to build a SPDIF coax-TTL converter Question : - which drivers (Pax NewYear 2005 or KX) should I use after that to get following to work : stand-alone DVD player coax digital out ---> coax-TTL converter ---> Audigy 2 AUD_EXT SPDIF in ---> Audigy 2 AC3 decode ---> Audigy 2 5.1 Analog out ? Also, I've read in this post that there are some problems with bass redirection in PAX drivers. Is that true ? Thanks. |

yes. But in my SoundFont Bank Manager, there's no Midi device named "Creative SoundFont Synth"..
see Leon's screenshot on first thread

I used to have an unknown device in Control Panel after I uninstalled the 1st NewYear 2005 package. When I installed this new package and updated the unknown device Windows installed it as Creative Soundfont Synth. After installation there was no name as Creative Soundfont Synth in Control Panel. I think this is the Synth A and Synth B.
But, I must say, classic leon could give an explaination for this, since he says "...pictures above present the package works with Audigy 1 sound card."

I just installed the NY 2005(2nd ed) package, and I must say the installation went flawlessly.
I now have a problem: I tried the system out with battlefield vietnam as a performance diagnostic, and the game just craaaaawls, even without EAX enabled. What's going on? Isnt the onboard decoder supposed to reduce CPU processing? I'm not a big gamer, but this still weird. I've heard BFV is a kludge, too. Regardless, my garcia & grisman sounds way clearer: your drivers do justice to their talents(rip garcia). Xiexie for the drivers, leon! My specs: Audigy 2(not ZS, just 2), AN35 ultra mobo, barton 2500, 1GB ram, 9800 PRO AIW. Last edited by phirang; Feb 24, 2005 at 11:46 PM. |
