How can drivers make RMAA results so good? This is dodgy.

I give up, it does not work at all on my setup. I have tried posting for help, but with no luck. I am not a noob, but this has done my head in. It just will not install, constant complaining about no required files.

Classic_Leon, can I suggest that the next pack uses 7zip compression? It might even be better than winrar.

ok i just typed out a message, and when i submitted it it deleted it, so this is my short version.
pack + creative 5.12 - no success at all pack + modded 1.2s - no software, but can install drivers Few questions, when it asks you way in the beginning if u choose audigy/audigy2 or the audigy2zsnotebook, the latter (2nd) is the softmod right? Tried both options and didnt work. I did a lot of trial and error, and i couldnt get the new drivers to install at all, the drivers itself Anyone have any success stories installing the creative 5.12 (the first option) if so, can u explain step by step the choices you chose, etc. Oh, i have a plain audigy 2 by the way Ben EDIT: For those reading this thinking about downloading this pack, i would try the new years 1.2 standalone pack. It comes with a nice control panel that puts all the options one would need in it. If you really want all those applications get the AS-PAX-ZS software pack, |

Yeah this release is not without bugs.
I got it installed teh first time but the system wouldn't shut down. So I flatten them again and use driver cleaner pe, than tick all the options in the pax installer that comes up as the creative gui takes the screen over. They seem to be in place but there was an windows error box about the installer failed during the creative driver install. I'm not sure what to make of this because everything seems to be running fine. I guess I'll have to watch the error logs.

uh, I disagree, I think the drivers are awesome. I can really tell the difference in quality.
"dodgy" is almost equivilant to "suspicious" meaning he doesn't believe that the drivers are actually improving the results. He suspects cheating or something like that. |

I always thought that the DAC and circuitry affected the sound, not the drivers!
If I'm wrong please explain why, as I don't see the logic. Thanks Matt |

This new driver pack installs just fine on my Audigy2 Retail. Only issue was when installer installed wavstudio, an error saying reg32 couldnt reg something, but it stillworks just fine.
Before i put in the driver pack I uninstalled all the creative stuff that was in the system using the uninstallers (which was the pax 1.2 pack) and reset. After system was back up i deleted the creative folder in program files and used regcleaner to remove all creative regkeys. I dont use drivercleaner as i find it far to destructve for its own good and only leads to problems. After that I use the pax 2005 installer and use option 1 to install everything on Audigy2/ZS. eventually it will get to a window asking what updates to install. Do not do anything at this stage and wait for creative installer to open. I left everything enabled but i dont see why you cant disable parts you dont want and then let it install. One its installed exit the creative installer and do not restart. Choose what updates ya want to install from the pax installer and then let it do its stuff. Once its done restart the system and that should be it. My card is now listed as an Audigy2 ZS. The software suit looks a little odd being a mixite if zs stuff and the new silver audgy4 stuff, but apart fromt hat all works just fine, no conflicts or issues, and sounds great. Hope this little guide is of some help to those having install issues. Matt -----

I have installed it at last...
First this pack refused to install (some errors says that i don't have proper components). I installed only PaX Driver from this package and reboot PC. When Windows is rebooted a new window appeared for a moment "Driver Reg Update" and when win fully rebooted I was able to install everything - all soft components and updates :-) Now everything is working great Good Job for YouPax and you Classic_Leon

OMG. How many guys who can use the pack?
And how many guys who cannot use the pack? Please give me your name. Sorry in advance. Edit: OK, all guys who can't use this pack please uninstall drivers and remove Creative software and regs first, then install pack only(I think it is option 3) without any drivers. Then reboot your pc. Next, install YouP PAX NewYear 1.2 or Creative official drivers. Tell me whether you can let them run if you have done procedures above.

![]() As to installing, I spent over 5 hrs trying to get it to work with no joy. The creative pop up does not appear, do I have to wait a while for this to happen? Classic, please check my previous posts to see what I have tried in order to resolve the issue.

ahhhhhh frustrating, i feel your pain, now that ive experienced all that. I want to try these bad.
in my previous post i mention, i get the creative popup thing right after it shows all the software options. This is where i get confused. madmatty, since u have the same card as mine, i figure we shouldnt have too many differences, but i cant even get this to install. You said u had to install the pax 1.2 first? did it fail to install the apps first, then u installed the pax driver? |

sortof, i think what happens is the software sees no drivers installed, so it says it can't install.
