NO drivers wont install on LIVE card!

Okay so basically I have never been able to install drivers to my Live 5.1 card. I think the CD that came with it worked, but that is missing. My harddrive died recently and I just reinstalled windows etc. Anyway I want my sound working properly with EAX and all that rott...plus I want my 5.1 working(right now only 2.1 works).

so I downloaded modded drivers. no good...I keep getting the message that no Creative product exsists on the comp. so after alot of work I just download the pack for my soundcard from the Creative page...Again same problem "there is no creative product". grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

anyone know how to fix this??

Try to install this package without any drivers:

7) http://szgwbn.mydrivers.com/sound/LIVE-NewYear.zip

Choose all selections including Creative drivers to install the package above.

tried it. it says "You do not have an Audigy 2 ZS" and closes.

Hmm ...
You could try to put your SB Live into another PCI-slot.
But I have to say that I had a problem as yours some time ago, too. Well ... my card was dead.

I tried another PCI slot. sadly I only have 2 to choose from(killer HSF on the graphics card)

same story all around.

its weird though because that CD that came with the card works! but I cant find the bloody thing.

Creative cards are strange - if it does not show up in the device manager as unknown or something else
Drivers will not install

what fix?

if you're talking about the LIVE-NEWYEAR thingy, it dont work.

btw Creative sent me back a HUGE email telling me how to fix this. Appearently its an IRQ conflict that causes this(even when the damn thing ran, it constantly would get grainy and cut out so its possible that they are right)

in any case I cant put it anywhere else so I have to figure out how to fix the IRQs.

anyone know how?? :-D
