hi there
i´ve got a problem with my surround-system and some games and movies. while playing for example "evil genius" or "doom3" with enabled 5.1 dolby the output is pretty quiet. in windows it all is settup correct and mp3 works normal ( in normal loudness ). same problem with movies my specs : win 2k, audigy 1 ( with audigy 2 zs drivers + latest updates - installed like the guide shows ) , teufel cem 5.1 surround-system ( connected correctly ) moroga |

You're probably getting more dynamic range. This means that things will sound more realistic, since loud things will be much louder than quite things.
In movies, you should be able to change the settings in whatever software DVD player you use. If you've got good speakers, I'd turn the dynamic range compression off, and crank the speakers up. It makes movies seem much more immersive, since you'll be almost straining to here people whispering, and then BOOM!, something explodes, and the house shakes. ![]() With the Audigy 2 ZS drivers, there should be an option in the audiohq decoder settings to enable/disable dynamic range compression, you should toggle this to meet your needs as well.

The dynamic range compression is enabled by default, so if you do toggle it, the quite parts will sound softer.
Control panel > audiohq > device controls > decoder > dolby digital decode settings.
