Installation Guide:

This software pack is a crack/mod based on the original CD of Creative Audigy 2 ZS Notebook & Audigy4 Pro. Please read the followings carefully.

Supported OS:

Win2000 (SP4 or above)
WinXP（SP1 or above）
Win2003
Longhorn
(WIN98、WINME & WINNT4.0 are not supported)
must have DricetX 9.0c or later installed

Supported Soundcard model:

Live (0200 DELL edition of Live is not supported)
Audigy (Audigy LS is not supported)
Audigy2
Audigy2 ZS

Software Pack consists of:

Live soundcard section:

X-FI For Live driver by UP. This driver is a hacked 5.12.10.1042， fixed up the compatibility issues with this software pack, and it can work with all features of this software pack. The most serious issue with this driver is that it does NOT render any surround effects in EAX-supported games. This is a bug originated from the creative's official driver. For those who will use this software package only for music playback, this driver is recommended. Installing on NTFS will result in almost a double amount of volume. The volume is more satuated. All languages are supported.
YouP PAX VI v1.68 by YouP. This driver has more of a musical taste. The bad side of it is the bass is not as strong, not suitable for symphony type of music. In terms of gaming issue, only Max Payne 2 has compatibility issue with its dialogs. Other games found in the mainstream are okay. 2005 New Year Pack has good compatibility. The core of the driver is Live Value 5.12.04.0291 released for China, and it doesn't support any other model of Live. Special installation method is needed in order to make it works with other model of Live. It also supports SPDIF IN. On WinXP, using a special method of installing this driver will greately improve the performance of this driver (system will be restored to its original state upon uninstallation). During the installation phase, please select YES for all of the 'Replacing Newer file conflict' prompt. Other than WinXP, no system file will be changed in the installation phase. The most serious issuewith this driver is that it only supports Simplified Chinese (must select Simplified Chinese interface).

Audigy 1/2/LZ series section:

YouP PAX ZS ver 3.89 driver by YouP. It is a hacked driver based on 5.12.01.0444. It is suitable for listening to soft-rock/pop/musical songs. This driver supports EAX4 effect, and does not have any issue with games. On WinXP, using a special method of installing this driver will improve the performance of this driver (system will be restored to its original state upon uninstallation). During the installation phase, please select YES for all of the 'Replacing Newer file conflict' prompt. Other than WinXP, no system file will be changed in the installation phase. This driver has added support for Audigy 2 software with cracked Audigy2 ZS patch. Note: this driver does NOT support Audigy 2 ZS Notebook.

This software package has added the following components (selectable during setup):

Creative MediaSource 3 (ver 3.10.16) - lastest version from Audigy4 Pro
Silver EAX Control Panel - lastest version from Audigy4 Pro, w/ new Silver theme
Creative Smart Recorder (ver 2.10.56) - latest version from Audigy4 Pro
Creative Multimedia Center - latest version from Audigy4 Pro, for soundcard with external box + remote, NOT recommeneded for other soundcards as it greately lowers the speed of Windows startup.
AudioHQ, Surmix2 - since Audigy series cannot access to Surmix 2 in the new version of "Creative Control Panel", AudioHQ is added for accessing Surmix 2.
Creative MiniDisc Center - (ver1.50.20) from Audigy2 ZS
Creative PlayCenter 2 - for Live series, used for access CMSS feature.

About this Mod:

Live series can enjoy almost all of the latest features EXCLUDING the new Creative's DVD-AUDIO player, THX Control Panel, Graphical EQ and DTS hardware decode. THX Control Panel remains in the software pack so that it may be used in future driver through a simple patch.

Audigy series can enjoy almost all of the latest features EXCLUDING the new Creative's DVD-AUDIO player and DTS hardware decode

Audigy2, Audigy2 ZS series can enjoy all of the feature in the software pack.

note: Audigy4 Pro's special "(precise value restore?)" feature requires hardware support. Other than Audigy2 Value, no other can can use it.

Things you should watch out for:

In order to install this driver pack successfully, uninstall all of the previous installed Creative software and driver! Installing under fresh, newly-installed Windows is recommended. 2005 New Year software and driver pack can be uninstalled through Add/Remove Programs. Please make sure you have 600MB+ free space. Temp files will be removed after the installation.

Under Win2003, in order to avoid DVD-Audio conflict, do NOT install DVD-Audio player. Use WinDVD to play your DVD-Audio.

Method for uninstalling existing Creative's software and driver:

Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs, remove all "Creative"-related software, and
"Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS" for Audigy 2 ZS series
"Sound Blaster Live" for Live series
"Sound Blaster Audigy" for Audigy series
"Sound Blaster Audigy 2" for Audigy 2 series.

Then, remove the following from the registery:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Creative Tech
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Creative Tech
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Cr eative Tech
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet002\Control\Cr eative Tech
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet002\Control\Cr eative Tech

Then, delete all files from X:\Program Files\Creative (delete again after uninstallations). If after following these instructions above, you still can't install the New Year pack correctly, a fresh, newly-installed Windows is recommended.

NOTE: Please exits all applications during installation to avoid crashing. If crashed, press CTRL+ALT+DELETE and go to Task Manager, select Start.exe and End Task. Run NewYear2005.exe and try again.
