Audigy LS advice

Hello All,

I bought this Audigy LS a while back, soon came the blunt realization that i got suckerd. It gives me problems in many games, especially IL2 Forgotten Battles with Pacific Fighters. It seems to make the graphics stutter when i use 3d audio extension, an option in IL2. Do not quote me on this, but I believe this game uses miles sound system, the relevance of this, I do not know. It's just that this game gives me sound problems like I have never had, except for one other flight sim, Lock on modern air combat Sound is terrible in that game lol.

I have some questions to ask please.

1: What can I do, if anything, to improve the performance/ sound quality of this card?

2: What are my options as far as installing modded drivers and or software?

3: When I install drivers alone, and no software, I like the sound BUT, I can not play mp3s in 5.1, well simulated 5.1 through cmss or whatever it is. Is there anyway to get this effect to work without installing creative software?

4: After installing updated drivers it says the drivers date is 2/4/2003, but on website it says i believe march 10th 2004, whats the deal with that? lol

Thank you very much for any answers.

System Specs

1) replace the card
2) none
3) probably not, unless the software upmixes
4) you got dodged i guess

the Audigy LS is not a true audigy card, all its effects are done in software, instead of hardware - so you'll notice an increased CPU load

Yes I also got suckered and bought 2 LS's for mine and my wifes PC(they were such a good deal). Technically they are Extigy chips put on a board for internal(I looked up the Part #). Granted they sound decent but yeah they are CPU hogs
