WinAmp Question

Hey is there any way to get Win Amp to recognize my keyboard buttons for stop play pause next previous and all that stuff?

Is it a logitech keyboard? If so, you have to have the itouch software installed and running.

Is there any software to install? Does it work with windows media player? Do you have the HID Input Service running?

ya you can, winamp has built in commands for the keyboard. the only problem is its a really crappy set up.

previous - Z
play - x
pause - c
stop v
next - b

now the only problem is that winamp has to be selected and ontop of everything for these to work. as soon as winamp is either minimized or moved behind something else, these commands are useless.

im just lucky i can use the actual hotkeys on my MS keyboard that are specificly designed for this type of stuff so itll work no matter where winamp sits.

Yeah, it works fine with Logitech ones when the itouch software is installed.

Winamp 5 does have official plugin support for multi-media keyboards.

1. Make sure the functionality is turned on in Winamp.

2. Make sure you have the latest software/drivers for your keyboard installed.

You may have to throw yourself at the mercy of eMachine technical support and see if they can help you if these two suggestions don't help you.

I guess you could always go buy a cheapie MS or Logitech multimedia keyboard if the functionality is important to you.

Enable Global Hotkeys in the options for WinAmp 5.05

That's all I had to do to make it work with my MS keyboard
