Thanks for the opinions
Hi all, me again,
Thanks for the feedback on my earlier post. I took the advice of a few of you that replied. I went ahead and ordered the Audigy 2 ZS. I have a question about it though. I have heard of 7.1 speaker configurations of a rear centoer or haveing a channel for the sides. Can I use both with this card or what? In any case, I am only running on an inspire 5300 5.1 set so it wont matter until I buy a new set. Also can i just plug in a normal set of PC speakers on that channel and match the volume with my 5.1 set to make it 7.1? I paid 72$ shipped to the door on the Audigy 2 ZS retail. Is that a bad price? Also what drivers do u recommend I use for gaming, modded or creative's? thanks for any feedback |

With 7.1 configuration, you will have 2 front speakers, 1 front center, 2 sides, and 2 rears.
With 6.1 it's the same but instead of 2 rears, you only have 1 rear center.........I think. Normaly I just use the original (+updates) creative drivers.........that's if you play games. If you are more adventurous, you can try the youp pax drivers (I heard good things about them). If your only concern is about music quality then I think the kx drivers are better. |

7.1 works with that sound card, but is IMO, overkill. Unless you're getting the Creative S750 system anyway for the sound quality, I wouldn't bother going for 7.1 instead of 5.1.
