New Audigy2/ZS beta drivers!

So if I install the beta drivers will it not allow all my existing creative apps to work? I use the Tray Icon for setting sound and speakers and stuff and there Creative media source for CD's. Will these become inoperable?

It should work fine. I use the latest betas with the latest apps from the audigypack ( http://www.ringstad.cc/pcbgfiles/audigypack.exe ). I just use eax console, speaker settings and surroundmixer. I believe my brother is using the betas with mediasource.

I've been stuck with near-impossible to use audio in every game I play if I select EAX or hardware sound, simply because I didn't have the speaker setup application or EAX console, and no one else even knows where to get them...I tried manually editing ctcomp.dat to allow it to install on my Audigy LS to no avail.

But that pack you just linked to installed just fine!

I was wondering though, do you know of any other 'packs' like that one that contain software like EAX console and such that can be installed on any card? Becuase while the apps provided in that package work and solved my issue, I don't think i've quite got all the features/apps there are yet..if that makes any sense. anyway, thanks again, I hope there's more!

Heya. Good that you got sorted out

I think the other way to get more apps is to install the from the directories from the driver cds. Maybe even try the Audigy4 iso that is linked in this forum and see if those apps work (i havent tried yet). Good luck

I do have the iso for he audigy 4 that's in the sticky at the top, that was one of the first things I tried to get the apps installed, but of course the Audigy LS isn't supported so I didn't get far..

However the apps in that pack you linked to installed just fine, so i'm not sure if that's because they were modified or not..but I was unable to locate a ctcomp.dat file in any of it's cab archives..so beats me how they install without an issue :P

Can you tell me step by step how to install the drivers and apps? Do I uninstall anything prior to?

Even without the betas I have to restart the EQ everytime. It sux.

Hey,

I just found out about these beta drivers after yanking the audigy 2 out my system. I just got a hyper-threading P4 and encountered tons of problems with 'popping & clicking'

I'm using the inbuilt Soundmax for now which im quite impressed with. Battlefield 2even runs much A LOT smoother now. (though i realise im not getting the environmental effects)

But do these new beta drivers fix the hyper-threading probs with p4?

Hello everybody,

I have an Audigy 2 ZS Platinum and I want to direct the AC3 stream to my external decoder / receiver - Yamaha HTR 5760, using the digital coaxial output from the I/O drive. I tried all combinations of drivers from Creative, KX or YouP-PAX, and none allowed me to have sorround sound for dvds. The receiver detects the signal only PCM, I have front stereo signal from the dvds, but no center/surround.

Does anybody here resolved this problem?
Or knows a solution to it?

I had the same problem with a Platinum 10k1 and was easily resolved with the kx driver, but now I am stuck on it for about a month and it seems I can not find the solution.

Thank you for your help. Any input is appreciated!
