Trouble getting the 24bit/96kHz ASIO drivers to show up in Sonar 3
I am currently using the PAX NewYear 2005 Drivers. I have a problem where Sonar did not pick up the 24\96 drivers. I did what was indicated in a post on Cakewalk forum ( http://www.cakewalk.com/forum/tm.asp?m=403342&mpage=1&key=񨏉) and now within the "Audio Options" under the Drivers tab drivers listed from 1 to 11 are highlighted and they are Creative ASIO (which can be selected). Listed there as well from 12 to 14 are SB Audigy 2 ZS 2496 [8400] but are not hightighted and cannot be highlighted (selected) as they stay grey. Also listed there in grey from 15 to 25 are SB Audigy 2 ZS [8400] and these cannot be selected.
Can someone give me some direction as I can select these drivers in Cubasis but not Sonar and I want to use Sonar with my recording. I have already posted on the Sonar forum as well.

I can see the 24\96 in Sonar but just can't select them (remains greyed).

I solved it, with a little help. Here is my post from the Sonar Forum:
"OK... I played around with it until I figured it out. Actually some credit has to go to space echo for giving me the idea. Thanks space. What I did was simple... I deselected all drivers so they all were greyed and closed out the program. I restarted sonar again and went back into audio options and in my surprise I found all drivers in black text ready for me to make my selection. I selected the 24\96, closed out of sonar and restarted sonar again and went to audio options and everything was greyed except 24\96 drivers. Once again thanks Space for some good ideas. "

- choose 'Audio driver bit depth' (not file bit depth) not only 16 bit (greyed) but from 16 or 24 -bit and - set sampling rate into other than 48kHz Does it? Jiitee |

Now I have the 24\96 choosen, the sampling rate is 96000, the audio driver bit depth is 24 but greyed, and the file bit depth is 24. Is this good, bad, or ugly?

I think it's the way it shall be (neither 24\44.1 nor 24\48 is selectable, only 24/96 ).Was that driver naming (...24/96 --> ...2496) really necessary? jiitee |
