Jitter is on a distinguished road

I just went through this mess. I was using the Kx Drivers and wanted to try out the new creative beta drivers. Took me about 2 hours to get everything working right I was about ready to throw the PC out the window. I was having the same problem as you I would run the set up on the creative disk but if i tried to use any of the software it was saying there wasnt any supported devices found and such. Anyways here is what i did. Frist i would clean everything off w/ driver cleaner, then i would reboot and run the install on the creative CD. Then reboot again.........If you are still getting an error goto the directory where you installed the card and look for CTZAPXX.exe. It should say "creative device driver installer." It might be on the CD to if you explore around. Run that and make sure you check the "install box" and the "overwrite existing drivers." Once you run that reboot again, and everything should be ok. After i did that i went to the creative site and dled the new beta driver and it seems to be working good for me. I just installed it overtop of what I had and didnt have any problems. I hope that works out for you
