Which soundcard to buy?
Believe it or not, but I don't think I have ever bought a sound card in my life and am in the market to buy one now. I want to be able to connect the card to my TV via audio cables. Are there any cards out there that have that option available, or is there a better way to connect to the TV? (ie. audio cable adapter) Everyone on the boards here talk about Audigys, so I've been leaning towards that.

Get an audigy, but IF you happen to be able to find a Hercules Fortissimo/Digifire/Game Theater XP, do consider them.

Ok so audigy is a good idea then.
Here's another question or two: How do they connect to the TV? Also, I read here that some audigys are different than others. IE. One works because of the software but still puts stress on the cpu while another works on it's own hardware and less stress on the cpu. Obviously I'm going with the less stress on the cpu. What do these 2 qualify as? C Audigy 2 Value SB0400 8 Audigy2 ZS SB0350 8 Last edited by Bruuce; May 9, 2005 at 11:31 PM. |

I just put in an order for the audigy 2zs.
The only thing that concerns me is connecting it to my tv. I have some video files I'd like to display on the TV and already got my video card hooked up to it just need to find some literature for the sound card now. |

you simply need a stereo jack to 2X rca cable for stereo sound, or three of those cables for 5.1. You can get them cheaply from most electronics and electrical stores

What's the difference between Audigy 2 ZS model # 30SB035000000 and Audigy 2 ZS model # 70SB035000000 listed at Newegg? The packaging? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...o.x=14&Go.y=27

The OEM(model # 30SB035000000) came only with DVD software, the drivers, and some software on the driver cd. No box, no manual where as the retail comes with some games and retail box/manual and everything else the OEM had.

retail comes with a quick start guide, not a full manual
also the actual model "SB0350" is identical
