BTW, the drivers do support Open AL.
Imstalled and running fine on an Audigy ES (A1 without firewire). I too saw what classic_leon posted about A2/2ZS (with no mention of Audigy 1), but figured, what the hell, try and install them anyway. Anyhow, during the install, this is what I saw,

Installed the game/DVD set, and no complaints so far.

Just out of curiosity, anyone that has run either this set or the betas (with the openAL support), been curious enough to check out the openAl32.dll that gets installed. In both sets, the dll is not from Creative, but from Nvidia.

I'm using Music I too and it's pretty bassy. But at the same time it's very clear too. Background vocals and instruments seems to be more audible than before. Sounds good for trance or pop but didn't sound too good on rock music. This is what my ears tell me though. Anyone tried Music II ?

music II was "flat" as far as I could tell. It didn't have an accent on any one thing. It was more balenced. but it did have some more bass. I think in general these drivers put out just a little more bass.

Music I sound better to me because I can clearly hear the vocals and highs much better. It isn't flat and I can tell some tweaking was done. But i like it.

yea since i didn't want to dump the a4 pro apps (since they are so much faster then the a2zs ones) i decided to modify the official audigy 4 pro drivers to work with the audigy 1 (should work with other cards too) + i was really bored...good solution for me until audigy 1 is supported again in pax (or mixer apps work again since the driver "does" output sound )

if anyone is interested download the audigy 4 pro beta drivers from creative's site extract the exe with something like winrar then get my http://hyakki.fate.se/Support.Cab overwrite creative's support.cab with mine and the drivers should install..

also get http://hyakki.fate.se/pfmod.dll (put that in :\Program Files\Creative\ShareDLL\ if you have problems with the a4 equalizer)

as far as i can tell everything works.

remember to remove any other drivers

you will still need the a4patch (http://www.noseturn.ch/A4-Patch.rar) files to fix the mixer software

anyone who try this does at their own risk. all i know is it worked for my system.

I tried "Music Edit 1" and now I'm using "Music Edit 2" but I think I'm going back to "Music Edit 1". I like more clear sound then extra bass!

I've burned this ISO to a CD, and tried to install the Audigy 4 software on my A2 ZS. Beforehand, I uninstalled all Creative drivers, programs, and ran DriverCleaner Pro.

The problem is that this A4 Pro iso doesn't seem to work when I autorun the CD or click on start in the Ctrun folder! It plays the short Creative demo fullscreen and gives the country and lang options. Then on the next screen it has options Audigy 4 and Mediasource of which I tick both (I want to install the new Pax drivers later). The I click on Next, it says its installing for about 5 seconds, but nothing else pops up. It says its completed and asks me to exit. When I check in Program Files, absolutely nothing has been installed!

I tried exploring the CD, and clicked on the setup for Mediasource - this was installed properly. But all the other apps like Speaker settings, THX, etc give an error when you click on their individual installers. So what can I do to get this working?

My PC is a P4 3GHz, 1Gb DDR RAM, with Windows XP SP2 and an Audigy 2 ZS.

ok, I start replying now. sorry to my double posts, I have to reply too many.
-softmod Audigy2/Audigy2 ZS @ Audigy4 Pro patch does not support Audigy1 because of Audigy1 is less one important chip on the sound card than an Audigy2. that's a hardware limitation to Audigy1 not to softmod to Audigy4 and not to play DTS/DTS-ES
-if you are not sure what option, Edit I or Edit II to use, please avoid choosing Music Edit II which maybe causes blue screen occurs

Kado, tell me your model. that is the problem between Audigy2 Pin and Audigy2 external "pin".
sovietdoc, drivers have been updated, try new one before uninstall all apps, drivers, and registry entities.
Rorbert, get speaker calibrator from New Year 2005 Package, which is the same as A4's.

My only question is, how come when I install the new drivers, there isn't any midi input port? I hope this would be fixed because I love the quality of sound from your drivers, but I also need the midi input port

Hi,
first of all thank you for your great effort. Problem is, that currently the file for the YouP PAX A4 v1.01 drivers can't be found on the server any more (the Link I have is http://bt.99hifi.com/youp/YouP-PAX-A4v1.00X.rar). Any other URLs?

Thanks

theonlybabyface, just uinstall YouP PAX A4 v1.00 and install YouP PAX A4 v1.01 only; do not need to uninstall ISO (apps). the third one is fine.
PorkHam, tell me your sound card model, that is the issue between Audigy2 Pin and Audigy2 external "pin".
