First of all thanx classic_leon for ur job !!!!
I installed YouP-PAX-A4v1.01 and Audigy4Pro-YpoauxP.iso without any problem, only that it doesn't appear two things: stereo connectors in THX Setup Console and Speaker Calibrator in Speaker Settings.

How can I fix it ??

I just tried reinstalling everything clean. I removed all creative registry enties, files, folders and etc. Installed A4 1.01 driver, A4 Software pack and then Speaker Calibrator from A2 new year pack. Guess what happens when i press the "calibrate" button? Yup, blue screen again and I've been always using Music I driver >_< Any ideas?

exclamation CMSS2 bug, well... maybe!

Classic Leon my device is a Creative SB Audigy 2 ZS (SB0350) (E800), from retail box.
I'm gonna try to download and install the new drivers... using music edit 1. I always uninstall everything and clean everything using driver cleaner pro in safe mode.
Any way to install drivers in english?

[EDIT]Drivers downloaded. Installing now. It's going to take a while and some reboots! lol [/EDIT]

[EDIT2]Installed sucessfully. The spdif is still unavailable. I have no use for it right now but it is nice to know that it is there and ready to work![/EDIT2]

[EDIT3]CMSS2 is not working properly with YouP A4 PAX v1.01. The sound panning from front to rear speakers is not working properly, there's always sound in the rear and front speakers, the sound just gets louder or quieter instead of only playing in the selected speakers on the lever![/EDIT3]

I modify the install for Creative Speaker Calibrator (based off pax 2005) so it will install stand-alone.

since a 302 megabyte download (just for the calibrator) is a bit much for some people.

(global (Brz,chs,cht,dut,eng,frn,ger,ita,kor,spn) 25 mb)
http://rapidshare.de/files/2144544/SpkCal.zip.html (zip)
[color=#232d35]http://rapidshare.de/files/2142544/SpkCal.lzh.html [/color](lzh)

(english only 11 mb)
http://rapidshare.de/files/2144413/SpkCal_eng.zip.html (zip)
http://rapidshare.de/files/2142143/SpkCal_eng.lzh.html (lzh)

on installation i would choose path that meets your sound card (it will try to install to C:\Program Files\Creative\CalibrationWizard this will work however when installed normaly it would be put in ie C:\Program Files\Creative\SBAudigy\CalibrationWizard\ )
so its up to you if you want to change it.

Greeting guys!
This is my first posting, first of all thanks to Leon, YouP and all the other Audigy Modders. I've become a silent audience for so long, now it's the time to make this thread more colorfull with problems . I hope you don't mind. Well, at least we can laugh together and rock the thread.

My soundblaster is Audigy 2 Platinum. I've installed the Audigy 4 Iso, patch for Audigy 4, and also 've downloaded the official patch for Audigy 4 Creative.
But still got the problem with the Creative Entertainment Center, somehow she doesn't recognize the DVD/CDs/VCD or any media that I've inserted into my DVDROM.
First I've a suspicious mind on the settings of my WinXP autoplay, because I've installed Microsoft's Tweak UI. But after I removed the settings, still got no solution at all.

So could it be another unresolved bug from Creative or something else ? Anyone got the same problem like me ?
Goodluck guys....

i think its a openal issue that causes the blue screen. since speaker cal reqiures that file. or its just a issue with the pax drivers (maybe thats why they didnt include it on the a4 cd) ..

it works with the offical a4 drivers and openal.exe

the openal i use is here
[color=#0000ff]http://rapidshare.de/files/2144026/OALINST.EXE.html[/color]

im not sure if this is the same one that comes with pax or is compatable with pax drivers.

might be worth a try to see if it fixes blue screen.

backup your old /system32/OALINST.EXE & openal32.dll just incase

here is screenshot of it working on my system
http://img134.echo.cx/img134/1993/clip8em.png

im still wondering if speaker cal is supposed to come with audigy 4 pro (did the pax team leave it out?) or is it maybe the audigy 4 doesn't need it and creative left it out intentional. i guess only people with a real audigy 4 knows

also sorry about lzh format (figures the compression type i select in lzh (lh7) isnt compatable with winrar) ..i will upload in zip format when i get a chance :X
edit "zip version uploaded"

I'm really torn in which drivers to install with my Audigy 2; the Pax 4.01 drivers or use hyakki's method with the official A4 drivers.

hyakki, you mentioned there's somewhat an improvement over the A2 ZS drivers; is it worth the upgrade? Will the Audigy 2 show up as an Audigy 4 in Device Manager?

Right now, I'm using the official A2 driver with A2 ZS apps....

it won't show as audigy 4 in device manager or creative apps (it will show what card you have) personally i think its worth the upgrade so far ..the a4 apps are much faster then the a2 ones and a little bit better sound.

i havent really went into testing games or anything but music sounds good and been stable so far.

i also havent tested the driver setup with other sound cards other then the audigy 1 (should work with the audigy series .not sure about live)..

did you try the openal file?
really strange im "almost" positive its related to openal
the only way i can reproduce a blue screen is by using differnt openal versions.. however i am unable to know for sure if its related to other users blue screens

but as you can see here its working
http://img142.echo.cx/img142/8058/clip3dz.png

it might just be related to differnt sound cards or other configurations such as drivers looking at my file monitor SpkrCal.exe opens a ton of files (more then 300) so finding the problem is a tricky one and if openal file doesnt fix it ill leave it to the pax team

Doh .. sorry i didn't notice your OpenAL post.

It IS the freaking OpenAL file that is causing the blue screen. I replaced mine and it works!

I've had no issues at all with the Speaker Calibration at all. My Audigy 2 ZS shows up as an Audigy 4 in my device manager as well. If you look at the iso for the A4 package, you'll notice that the Speaker Calibration is included in the package. However, it just doesn't install. Once I installed it manually, all is fine. No blue screens for me and I did not have to replace the OpenAL.dll file. I am using the Game/DVD driver btw.

Under what name is the Speaker Calibration on the A4 CD? I checked the Audio Folder but I just saw the speaker settings sub-folder there.

It is called "SpkCal" and is located in the Audio folder for me. It's weird that you don't have it????

On another note, my Creative Smart Recorder doesn't seem to work. If I click on Smart Recorder I get a flash and then nothing. The process does show up as running as well and I am unable to end task on it????

Is anyone else having this issue?

OMG this is pissin me off. I uninstalled openal and speaker calibrator didnt run because it asked for openal32.dll which wasnt there. I installed OpenAL from your package, hyakki, but it gave me a vlue screen anyways. So yes, its OAL that makes comp restart. Any other suggestions? I have SB A2 eX modded to A4, Using Music I YouP.

EDIT:

I replaced the OpenAL32.dll with the one that came with 2005 YouP driverpack, from the creative's drivers, still doesnt work

Sad even worse for me

I did the following:
Unistall everything thats from creative (I had the YouP New Year 2005 Package running), cleaning registry as far as I found something. Deleting the creative folder then reboot. After that I installed the YouP driver Package with MusicI. After reboot I installed the software package. Everything worked so far, no error during installation process(BTW: I also tried installing the package first, then the drivers: same result). Cause I'm modding A2 ZS (thats my soundcard) I copy the patched files manually to the right folders (speaker and surround settings). But when everything is done and after another reboot nothing works. There is the symbol in the tray icon bar, but when I choose any software (for example thx console) I get an error telling me that the audio device is not supported by the software (nothing more happens). What am I doing wrong?

Thanks

Apparently the Speaker Calibrator was in some of the files, but not in others. But which is correct? Was it inadventently left out and then put back or inadvertently put in and then taken out on purpose?

I think I was one of the first to download the ISO. If I download it again will I get the Speaker Calibrator this time? (Maybe I'll try.) The folder is not included in the file I downloaded after I burned it to a cdr with Nero 6.

hyakki's download will not extract properly for me. I tried the latest WinZip and WinRar. So I ran the NewYear2005 package and cancelled out when Creative's setup popped up. The folder is in there, but Setup for Speaker Calibrator pops up an error telling me to delete my Temp files (even after I delete my temp files!). I'm wondering, hyakki, what did you modify to get the calibrator's Setup to run independently? I checked the setup.ini but couldn't figure out what to change. I'd expect problems if I ran Creative's full package installer with the Audigy 4 Pro PAX stuff already installed on the system.

I hope hyakki will let us know what to modify so it will run. I figure I'd run the setup, then run the OpenAL installer he provided to patch in the correct version.

Or, I hope we'll be told whether or not we should just leave Speaker Calibrator out and not bother with it. Perhaps it was left out because of these OpenAL problems?

Ummm, unfortunately (or, fortunately?) I've got my Revo 7.1 installed right now so I'm just downloading and burning all this stuff to use on my Audigy 2 ZS Platinum or my SBLive 5.1 someday soon! So I won't be able to say if it all works right now but I posted because I wanted to confirm that there is a difference in the downloads. They had one up with the Speaker Calibrator then took it out, or the other way around!

Well, I can't try to download it again because the files are no longer there! I don't have bit torrent (how do you get that?) so I don't know if it's still available that way.

Maybe they're fixing the ISO?

Lol YouP drivers are always great but since theyre modded they have some little problems. For example, Audigy 4 has 113db while my card has "only" 106. When I try to play something REALLY good quality, like a 96/24 DVD-A, it uses the full potential of my speakers and the soundcard. Sometimes during the playback I hear clicks because the driver is modded and my audio hardware just doesnt support certan sounds the actuall Audigy 4 does. If I am using the driver that came with my card (official creative audigy 2 driver) sound quality isnt as good as YouP drivers but i get no clicks/ticks what so ever. Oh, by the way I got a quesion, I dunno if any one of you had ever ran into this problem before. Bass sounds kinda "not clear" with my sound setup now. I try to turn up bass on my subwoofer and the bass becomes really crisp and clear but its waay too much because Audigy has it's own bass control as well. If I turn the bass down on Audigy, so I can turn up my sub, it lowers the bass to every speaker, resulting in crappy overall bass quality, even thought the sub sounds awesome. I can't turn down the sub volume in creative settings because sub won't sound as crisp anymore. Like how do I set it all up so my speakers won't lose the bass and at the same time sub will sound clear and not "too powerful" ?

No blue screens for me and I did not have to replace the OpenAL.dll file. I am using the Game/DVD driver btw.
spkcal is not included on the pax a4 cd. i think any errors of it disappearing is very unlikely since it was compressed (would of given error if it was corrupt) and also in iso format.

it was either taken out deliberately or never was there.

i was looking though classic_leons posts and noticed he posted a link with some screen shots ..one site looked like it was doing a review on the official audigy 4 and showed the custom install screen ..but it didn't have a option for speaker cal- either.

could you tell us where you got your a4 cd and maybe give a screen shot. since i am curious too.

for people who couldn't extract the lzh file get the zip version

sorry about that.

some people get blue screens it seems to be something with the openal libary ..some people have luck chaning the openal dll's while others don't..

consider installing spkcal beta untill there is a better solution for the blue screen issue

(you can always remove spkcal in Add or Remove Programs - Creative Speaker Calibrator if its not working for you)
