How to install Audigy 4 Pro BETA drivers on Audigy 2 Plat ex ?
I have Audigy 2 Platinum eX hardware.
I'm now running the Audigy 4 Pro ISO apps AND drivers. However, I'd like to upgrade to the latest authentic Creative drivers, namely the beta drivers from April 28th. However, if I try to install the Audigy 4 Pro beta driver SBA4_BETADRV_US_2_05_0000, the installer barfs out: "Setup is Unable to detect a supported product on your system. Please ensure that your product is properly installed before running this setup program. Setup will exit." Is there any way of installing Audigy 4 Pro beta drivers from April on top of Audigy 4 ISO drivers when using Audigy 2 hardware? I'd rather not install the Youp-Pax 1.01 Audigy 4 drivers. Is there a way to modify the beta Audigy 4 driver pack to install even on Audigy 2 hardware? Thanks for any help on this. |

i already explaned this here (post #128)
http://www.hardwareheaven.com/showthre...5&page=9&pp=15 let me know if it works for you. download the audigy 4 pro beta drivers from creative's site extract the exe with something like winrar then get my http://hyakki.fate.se/Support.Cab overwrite creative's support.cab with mine and the drivers should install.. also get http://hyakki.fate.se/pfmod.dll (put that in :\Program Files\Creative\ShareDLL\ if you have problems with the a4 equalizer) as far as i can tell everything works. remember to remove any other drivers you will still need the a4patch (http://www.noseturn.ch/A4-Patch.rar) files to fix the mixer software anyone who try this does at their own risk.

Thanks. I had not found your earlier post, even though I tried.
I upgraded exactly as told. Drivers and all apps seem to work ok. Just trying to start "Speaker Settings" from within "Surround Mixer" using the mini icon from the bottom of Surround Mixer window results in the following error: "The operation was unsuccessful. Please try again or reinstall the application." It's as if the Surround mixer "link" to Speaker Settings application is wrong and it can't find the right spkset.exe to start. However, Speaker Settings app works fine if I start it directly from where it is installed at, and not from within Surround Mixer. I don't know where this small 'bug' comes from, but just FYI if somebody is having trouble after the install. Try executing SpkSet.exe directly from the installation directory (default is at: C:\Program Files\Creative\SBAudigy4\Speaker Settings ). Thanks again for help! |

Yes, did everything as posted here and in other audigy 4 driver mod install guides.
Even cleaned drivers / registry. Did all the patches. But I don't mind this small issue. I can open the speaker setup through another alias. No biggie. Thanks again for help! |
