disable onboard sound?
hey, a bit of a noob question i know, but how do i disable onboard sound on my Asus A7N8X-X?

ive already checked.... anyone know what tab its under?

i wanna disable onboard sound so i can use my newly bought Audigy 2 ZS 7.1

ive never had a sound card before

hehehe

family decided that i didnt really need a sound card when i first got my pc.

now i got the 5.1's set up, and the subwoofer going, but im not sure if its running onboard or sound card....

If not- Google is your friend. Find a review of that mobo on google.. You will find one with pics of the bios screens probably.

ok, i checked all the descriptions, and it was simply labeled AC97 >.<....


isnt it meant to say "audio" or something before AC97?

yeah that is the sound. Under one of the bottom three things there? They must figure people that are in the BIOS, know what AC97 means.. Reading the manual would have probably said that.. I always read my mobo manuals at least 2 times to make sure I know of any oddities the that particular mobo might have.. For future reference u can probably get the manual at the manufacturer's website if you lost it.

i lost my manual ages ago... but i couldnt read it anyway. it was written in REALLY skimpy english.
