Best Live card to use?

Hello,

I recently purchased a Live 24-bit card. From a search I did here I gather this card isn't compatible with any Audigy 2/etc drivers as the other Live cards are.

Unfortunately the live 24-bit card seems to be more stripped down than I expected it to be. Even the bass controls are not enabled in the drivers. So I'm going to buy something else... Probably a different type of Live card.

I just have three questions -

1. Is there a certain type of Live card that is best for use with Audigy 2/4 drivers? (also are the 64-bit drivers compatible, or just the 32-bit?)

2. What exactly "is" a Live 24-bit card? From what I've read it sounds like it's not just another Live/Audigy spin off as far as the hardware goes. Is it worth replacing with a Live! using Audigy 2/4 drivers?

3. From what I've read it sounds like Creative Live cards are essentially the same as Audigy cards... So does this mean essentially that Creative is selling basically the same card while claiming it is new and improved and at a higher price?

Thank you very much for any info!

1. want a live card? get a live 5.1 digital (best live card IMHO), but if u can afford it you could go get a audigy2(non-zs), they are quite a better choice
2. its kind of a audigy2 card, just that the chip has severelly limited an is made with less features. Using live cards with audigy drivers is not very good, it actually takes off many features as the creative software not fully working, eax problems, etc.
3. nope, different chip different thing. they are very much alike but never the same.

BTW, when u say bass controls not working, u mean in the surround mixer? cauze it is supposed to be controlled in the graphic equalizer
