Problems putting songs on mp3 player (Weird error message)

Hey dont know if this is the right board to post but this problem is really bothering. I have a Creative Muvo N200 and whenever I try to put songs on it, I get this message "Cannot copy: The directory or file cannot be created". It was working perfectly before, but now it doesn't work at all. What's going on?

does that player have a locking mechanism, ie a switch that write-protects the drive?

It doesn't have a locking mechanism thats physically on the mp3 player itself. But i was thinking, is there such thing as a locking mechanism on the drive? (like right click on the drive>properties or something like that?)

What type of drive should it be? ie: FAT, FAT16, FAT32. Right now it's FAT, i have a feeling that might be my problem, any thoughts?

You might have to just reset the player, and I think it should be a FAT formated drive to be useable by any setup. How much space is in your player, and how much space would you say you're using right now?

The Micro N100/200 supports FAT16 & FAT32, so you can use either one. Instead of just formating the drive using Windows I would do a complete reset, and let the Micro do the formating. In recovery mode the Micro can rebuild the drive with the proper file structure. Give THIS article a read on their website on what to do. If you can, backup as much of the music you want to save off the drive, then run the reset as the article suggests.

Just take it step by step, and don't rush anything.

It has 130 songs (530mb) on it currently, but 1GB capacity. Something interesting, if i delete 1 song (so i have 129), Now I can copy and paste any song onto it no problem. It acts as though 130 songs is full?? any ideas??

Um your link doesn't work, but I was this what you were trying to get at?

http://ask.americas.creative.com/SRVS/CGI-BIN/WEBCGI.EXE?New,Kb=ww_english,Company={CEAE216D-8719-4C00-AC9F-03BC258F7B70},VARSET=ws:http://us.creative.com,case=4794

Anyway, I tried that with the recovery mode and whatnot but it still doesn't want to work.
