Judging by the numbers you've given it seems likely that the model number of your card is SB0228. I believe it is nearly identical to my Live! 5.1 Digital (SB0220), and the error message you describe is the exact same that I have received whenever I've tried to install Creative drivers that aren't written specifically for the SB022X cards. I think they're just too different from the rest of the Sound Blaster cards to be usable with drivers intended for these.

you need to use "driver cleaner pro" in safe mode first before installing anything.
and u also need to uninstall all creative products. finally try deleting any unwanted creative registry entries(only anything that has to do with the sound card). can do this by starting "regedit" and searching for "creative" first install the software then the driver. for the 0220 u need to use the chineese driver provided in the pax 2.2. read the instructions given in the pax driver form. works for all sb live cards except the dell. if u still get the error just install windows in another drive of your hd and see if it really works. if it does guess ull have to decide if ya gona format or not. (cus i have a 0220 and works fine for me) |
