Can Anyone Help with sound Chipset??

I have recently purchased GTA San Andreas and am having troubles with it crashing. I think I have pinpointed it down to the driver of the sound card or rather the sound dhipset. I have an avance ac97 audio which I understand is part of the motherboard. The MB is V266B. Do I need sepertae drivers for both or just the sound driver and lastly where can I find either. Thank you for any help.
