Ac'97 sound only in one ear

Ok I just upgraded my pc to a amd 64bit 3200 1gb pc3200 and a x800xl

the mobo is the TUL AX480A-GF

I'm getting sound fine in my left ear but not in my right. I've tried the headphones on other devices and other headphones on the motherboard and the same problem has occured. The right channel is completely silent. I have managed to get some sound of it using speakers with the 3d button turned on but it isn't as clear as the left one. I've updated the bios and the ac'97 drivers to the 375 build to no avail. Any help would be much appreciated.

System Specs

sounds like the jack itself is not seated properly

it could be damaged, or you aren't plugging the headphones in completely

well, after checking your volume control settings... i would say check if you motherboard has any jumpers for sound. I know for example that one of my Asus motherboards had jumpers in place of where a front panel connector for mic and headphones could go. If I moved those jumpers then I would lose sound channels.
