Pissed Updating audigy2 drivers? simple! (God help me)

Please, creative are neglegent and offering no advice to this problem, its driving me nutty and i currently have steam blowing out my ears through the sheer frustration.

Downloaded creatives 3 most recent drivers for my audigy2:

SBA2_EAX4DRV_031031.exe

SBA2_PCWDRV_LB_1_84_55-R1.exe

SBA2_BETADRV_US_2_05_0000.exe

Although I think I probably dont need the beta drivers, decided that I would be an extra special guy and went ahead and uninstalled my working perfectly current drivers, went as far as using 'drivercleaner' to get rid of any remnants.

So far so good, reboot, *click* EAX4drvrs (the main driver package says to have this installed first) so far so good, reboot, then i try the main driver set 'Installation cannot detect your SB audigy2' ***?

I try again after using drivercleaner first, no go, try to get my Installation CD creative drivers going, after lots of huffing and puffing i finally get my pc to detect the card. and after a reboot i have sound! Ok, try again, this time ill leave the cd drivers on, EAX4 ---- uh oh.. *crack spizzzzzttttt Bzzzttttttt* funny bloody sounds as im rebooting except............it didnt reboot the monitor just stayed on standby and my pc stopped any activity after 10 seconds, oh ****, I just killed something, had to take the card OUT for my pc to reboot.

Incredibly frustrating experience, and theres a few new tears in the wallpaper as quite a few things were thrown across the room.

Anyway, as you might expect im wary now of going anywhere near creative drivers, it seems every time I foolishly try to update these bastards it just causes me untold stress and more problems.

helllllpppppppp *bursts into intermittent periods of crying like a baby and vowing to annihilate creative with veins bulging on each temple and a wad of dribble on his chin*

Im really at my wits end, without fail every time since I got this rig and tried to update sound drivers its been a nightmare.

Specs:

Win XP sp2
AMD xp 3000+
Audigy2
512 ddr PC3200
Radeon 9800 xt 256mb

Lemme know if you need more specific info.

Welcome to DH. Did you download driver heaven cleaner? Did you try tune-up software? Did you try pax drivers and software yet?
