I can't say for sure what stands will work, but I have done a couple setups for people. In both cases I used the dual-mounting of the speakers. Since the stands can rotate around to be wallmounted I used that to my advantage.

The first setup I built the stands according to the "TNT Stuby" design that TNT Audio did a couple years back. I've used this setup for my own home audio setup a number of times. You can get the design idea, as well as what parts you'd need from HERE. Cost wise it was on par with their accessement: $40.00 or so. The only thing I did with this setup was that I mounted the speakers to the stand so that they wouldn't budge. You might think it's a bit much using PVC piping filled with sand, but it helps to reduce vibration, and you get a better sound from you speakers with these stands. Believe me, they are well worth it. Whether this is really needed with computer speakers, I can't say. I don't see why not though.

You could adjust the above idea by using a 4 foot 2x4 (8 foot piece cut in half), mount that to a 12x12 base (counter-sinking the screws), rotate the speakers stands, and mount the speakers to that 2x4. This would cut back your cost by removing the 8x8 top piece, and replacing the PVC with the 2x4.

The second setup was a lot easier: I mounted the rear speakers to the ceiling, and the front ones to the wall beside the monitor. The only trouble was that the guy didn't want to see wires (just great). This part was the only trouble as I had to snake the wire through the ceiling and walls. I won't tell you the whole idea as I doubt you'd go as far as I had to on this one, but you get the idea. Of note: spacing is the only issue as you need to measure your speaker distances, and adjust the final angle to your setup.

I can see it being a problem.

Only other suggestion would be to purchase a pair of home theatre stands, and altering them to support those speakers. You should be able to find on that looks similar to the design of the ones I mentioned. Check out Parts Express. They have plenty on their site that should give you an idea on what to look for.

Yes, however they are only 16" (inches) tall. Those are mainly meant for bookshelf styled speakers used as front speakers. What you need to look for is something about 30 to 32 inches high.

You have to remember that those speakers sit at an angle, so it all depends on how far you plan on spacing the rears, and how high you sit in your your chair. For example: If you are going to keep the speakers close, say 1 - 1 1/2 feet, then you want something close to 30 inches high. If you plan to go further out, say 2-4 feet, then you woud want something lower to compensate for the angle, and so you could go for something 24 inches high.

That's just a rough measurement to shoot for, but it should work.
