Could you give a link to well-known, hard-to-find Compaq drivers?

I'll try to install them on my 98SE...
XP will stay with kX

Thanks, I'd find them anyway, but Compaq sites are a real mess.

<edit>
Hell, another 150 MB download...
My 100kb/s link is too slow for these things.
And I have to download DirectX 9...

Use drivers only with some older apps... that's only thing I can suggest.

cant get them to work.

Hi guys,

Thanks for a couple of wonderful drivers. But there´s just a small problem. Cant get these to work.

Should start with to say that I use WinXP Sp1 and using a Audigy 1 OEM card.

This I have done,

1. Installed hacked Audigy 2 drivers and Apps. Did download the CD and extracted it to my harddrive. Did install the ctcomp in here. Installed drivers and apps thru CTrun/start. Reboot.

The sound did work but only if I tested the speakers or used the calibrator program.

Sorry for not getting this. But could you explain it again how to install these drivers.

Sorry for my lack of english (a poor french boy )

These drivers (.323) don't work with my Live! (one of the first board, I don't know CTxxx the value of xxx, I don't have time to open my case ), I keep using .283 (juste the drivers, no apps installed). I could install the .323 drivers, my sb live! seems to be ok in the device manager but i get an error when i try to play any sound.

I'll try tonight on my first computer which have a more recent live! (a 1024) and which actually run with .283, audioHQ and SurroundMixer (from .253 driver pack). I'll post here if the .323 drivers works with this board.

both are under XP sp1 and all windows update and dx9.
the one with the old sb live! is a celeron600@1054
the one with the live! 1024 is a p4 1.8@2.7

@GFXdaniel:
Have you installed these updates?
They work on my Audigy OEM without problems...
Speaker setup? And have you uninstalled old drivers correctly (this usually causes problems).
@dwarfy:
"my sb live! seems to be ok in the device manager but i get an error when i try to play any sound."
Hmmm... this might be the wrong installation - can you check what Device Manager says about it (under Driver tab)?
@calli:
Have any drivers you tried (ever) worked with Live! Drive?

exactly the same as that (but with .323 version of course) :

So it seems really Ok, however, I could'nt play any sound w/ these .323 so ...

I don't remember the error message when i try to play some sound (i'm back to .283, and i don't want to reinstall .323)

I will try in a couple of hour (when i'll be back in my home) these .323 on the live! 1024 of my computer, and let's see

Seems like CL shitters want to abandon Live! series (especially old ones).
Maybe error message can help me see something, but I doubt that I can make a lot.
Maybe I will need to start making tweaked drivers for Live!/Audigy1/Audigy2...

So, if it could help ....

I reinstall these driver, take some screenshots and take a look at the CTxxxx number.

be back in 20 minutes

EDIT : hum, really sorry about my precedent post, but finally ... .323 works even with this old card

I don't know why my previous installation seems ok but error when try playing sound, but now it works perfect, really sorry. (CT4670card).

So, I'm sure they will work too on my more recent live! 1024

Here is my problem with these....

They installed fine...no hitches, however, now I do not get 4 speaker output. If I play my MP3z using winamp, only the front speakers work and not the rear. If I go to test the speakers using the speaker settings, all four work when doing the test.

Is this a Winamp 3 only incident? No other program seems to like the 4 channel either.

Anyone else have this?

There was a guy with PCI512 that had the same problem...
Try setting the speaker setup in control panel and in Creative Speaker Setup (if you are able to run it).

I am glad it works... no problem, it was just strange that 283 did and this one doesn't.
I hope it will work too.
What about apps - have you tried them (they work to some people, and don't to some other)?

Hello fellow Croat. I got a SBLive Value and haven't tried these hacked drivers yet but that's ok, I'm using the .283 drivers like dwarfy and they work like a treat. Do those .323 offer any improvement?

Well (Pa, èuj...), these 323 drivers work better then previous ones.
I guess they aren't a threat if you are using .283 without problems.

So, just take the updated drivers, not the apps updates (skip a few steps).

Just an FYI, but I have an A2 and installed the driver update after installing DX9. Audio is cutting off completely after a few minutes of audio related activity.

Good to know creative still can't code drivers worth a damn.

I can't believe that it works excellent on my Audigy1. Hmmm.... and it is actually for Audigy2 -
