i would greatly appreciate if someone could help me...

i downloaded the 112mb (ca) update and the ctcomp.exe, ran it and installed the drivers, now bf1942 stutters just as much but accompanied with louder sounds, that i can deal with but the stutters make the game UNPLAYABLE.

i uninstalled using add/remove, upon restart i was asked for 6 files all of which i located in /system32 or /system32/drivers.

is there an additional step or something i might've missed?

is there an additional setting which must be toggled in windows or in the game?

any and all help greatly appreciated.

well i tried it on my sb-live x-gamer 5.1 card, most of the updates installed fine but a few didnt (like that dvd thing). patched the update, installed, rebooted. i was pleasantly suprised to see in my start programs (Creative-> SB Live 5.1) with the apps, though i have a creative 5.1 5300 speakers and even selected that in the setup, but only 2 speakers worked :< then the speaker config wouldnt work so i said screw it and went back to my xp restore point adn got rid of it all. kX project > creative

here it is:

http://www.nix.ru/download_from_ftp_ext.html?id=12970

it's from the russian site www.nix.ru

It's multilingual and 370 mb.

IMPORTANT:

After unpacking you have to make the files non write-protected to patch the files (ctcomp.exe) so you can use them with your audigy / live

For those of you who don't need the full set, you can just download the WinXP Update which has AudioHQ, Surround Mixer, EAX Control Panel, and SoundFont Manager

yes, but they are not in the last version in the update. The last versions of audioHQ and surround mixer are in the .253 compaq pack

True, although they are not interchangeable

The WDM Drivers here (v35.12) cannot be used with the new SB Live! DriverPack, while the UDA drivers cannot be used with LiveWare3

Wow thanks though I haven't really done anything. I'm just sorry I couldn't upload the entire CD like I wanted to in the first place. I have installed the .283's on a Live Value before and that was enough of a headache. There has to be some magical setup/install that works with everything. It would be nice to find this and package that up for download. Too bad I'm not very good at doing installers.

Well, I am not good at programming at all !!! (My speciality is industry analysis.)

Anyway, you are very welcome and hopefully the magical setup will appear, soon

According to PayPal's history, I have donated three times to kX Project during the past year, actually

I have tested kX Drivers v5.10.0.3528 today and posted my findings in this thread. Max doesn't seem to like me much over there, however. (He even sent me a rather interesting PM as if I didn't know the difference between "AC3 Passthrough" and "Digital Output" lol)

These drivers (.323) don't work with my Live! (one of the first board, I don't know CTxxx the value of xxx, I don't have time to open my case ), I keep using .283 (juste the drivers, no apps installed). I could install the .323 drivers, my sb live! seems to be ok in the device manager but i get an error when i try to play any sound.

Hum. After a reinstall, effectively these drivers "doesn't work", it seems ok in control pannel, but no sound and apps don't work.

in fact, here is the problem :

-Compaq .253 pack + .253 drivers > OK
-Compaq .253 pack + .283 drivers > OK
-Compaq .253 pack + .323 drivers > FAIL (device manager ok, no sound, apps don't work)
-Compaq .253 pack + .253 drivers, reboot and then .323 > FAIL (device manager ok, no sound, apps don't work)

In fact, in order to make these drivers working on my two sb live! in two totally differents computers, i need :

-Compaq .253 pack + .283 drivers, reboot and then .323 > it's working, sound and apps OK.

(and the apps of audigy2, even with multilingual support pack of 387mo, don't work at all)

supports except "model APS".

Support is limited on PCI256 cards
still testing success rate.

Well, I don't know (don't have BF 1942 or any new game at all).
Experiment.

Battlefield 1942 is fine here with 323 drivers. I'm using winxp and sblive value.

Oh, and if there's any sound problem in BF1942, try disabling Hardware Acceleration there first.

sorry, i'm just confused, thats all....

okay, this will be my absolutely last post...

i don't understand english all that well but

Quote:
1. Install hacked Audigy2 Drivers and Apps as written in this thread. - so called Necrosis's Driver Pack or Audigy2 CD Driver. Version is .283.
2. Download all updates (short changelog) from here.
3. Install application updates (all files except AUD2DRVL11021217.exe).
4. Extract AUD2DRVL11021217.exe using WinRAR 3.10 to folder of your choice. This is the driver version .323.
5. Run this file and point to the same folder as Audigy2 Driver. - thanks to DVDKingdom (compatibility patch creator)
6. Run setup.exe in that folder.
7. Enjoy!

my question is... what do i do with the AUD2DRV file? it says extract it, but then it says to use ctcomp on another file???

i'm very sorry but i just don't understand

i have already gotten that file on which to run the ctcomp on but that still doesnt explain what to do with the AUD2 file

CTcomp is for all drivers that are originally intended for Audigy2.
So, just extract to the same folder.

this is getting out of hand for me, i know i shouldnt have installed these things in the order i did. but i found no other way

first, i downloaded "sb_install_multilang" and ran ctcomp on it... then i uninstalled my previous drivers and installed the sb_install.

then that didnt have any effect so i downloaded the 323 drivers.... those wouldnt work unless i kept the previous drivers and i did.... but now my sound is completely gone

however, the lag in bf1942 caused by the sound is gone.

could someone mention a program that destroys leftover drivers? or something i should do?

(like take this matter to somewhere else since you're all fed up with me )

Speaker Calibrator

Anyone else notice that with these drivers (Audigy 2 + .323 updates) that the spaker calibrator no longer works? Like, you can calibrate your speakers, but it never saves and under speaker settings the calibration is always greyed out.

It wasn't this way with just the Audigy 2 drivers (and none of the new updates)

Just FYI, my configuration is WinXP SP1, Audigy1 OEM, DirectX 9.0

It is working for me
Just tested it again now to be sure then re-booted all
setting where saved.

Note: On the first use of Speaker settings utility you must click calibrate button to activate calibration program after you complete
calibration it will no longer be greyed out.

As you can see in my signature this was tested on an
Audigy 1 Platinum.

Corrupted files

I have downloaded the multilanguagepack from the Russian site and installed it with my Audigy OEM card and all is working well, except speakercallibration. From the map SPKCAL the setup.ini, setup.exe, setup.inx and version.ini files are corrupted so I can't callibrate my speakers. Please can someone sent me these files or loadup somewhere otherswise I have to download the whole 378 mb again. TIA
