Installer Patch now on 6.0

.bat file no longer needed all commands are executed
by the ctcomp.exe file internal system. All you need
to do is point ctcomp.exe to the directory where you
have extracted the Audigy 2 CD or Driver Update files the
exe will do the rest including re-setting file attributes
to allow the patch to make modifications to the new
CD which has read-only files. The exe will also show
a status of what it did. this should correct a few errors
I've seen.

I just updated the drivers from my Live! 5.1 to .323 and everything seems to be in working order. *knocks on wood*

I didn't run the modified ctcomp on the drivers that I got from the sb_install_multilang.rar file though. I ran the ctzapxx.exe in the drivers folder from the archive and it updated my drivers regardless to .283...?

Also, I didn't update any of my SB apps from the Audigy archives. I stayed with the ones from the latest 5.1 webupdate and everything works fine.

Sometimes I got these hacked Chinese Software Suite working, sometimes not, but it uses old drivers (.252) and I can't see any real advantage compared to the "normal" Creative drivers/software on my good old SBLive! Value. Installing Audigy2 drivers (which I hacked as described at he beginning of the thread) lead to a crash of most apps, only the Sourround Mixer was working, but neither Speaker Settings nor -Calibration worked, AudioHQ even ended up in a short BlueScreen and a followig reset of the whole PC. So I decided to install the hacked .323 drivers togehter with AudioHQ and Sourround Mixer (which includes Speaker Settings in this version) from the LiveDrivePack available Creative Asia. And erverythÃ*ng runs fine and stable, sound quality improved a bit. The old software gives me all necessary options I need for 4.1 sound in gaming and listening mp3s.

Using the latest WDM drivers w/ older apps seems to be the easiest way to go. I'm glad you guys or gals are seeing improvements w/ your cards with the latest drivers.

Cheers and Happy New Year!!!

I have a sound blaster live!, and everything seems to work correctly (well, more or less), with those drivers (.323). I've even managed to run audiohq, diagnose and the speaker settings program - but they will run ONLY if the eax console and speaker calibration are not installed.

And, at last, I hear the music in Silent Hill 2 without the annoying music loop problem!

So, have any of you bright-minded individuals managed to figure out how to slipstream all of the 12-20-2002 software/driver updates with the Audigy2 setup CD so lazy folks like me won't have to run 6 software updates after installing fresh drivers?

@Uzi
Thanks for that post! You helped me a lot! Now I'm able to use the new software suite without any problems. OK, that Chinese driver pack worked, too, but it uses old .252 drivers. Maybe RIV@NVX should update the guide for Live! users with your hint. Sourround Mixer also runs fine.

OK I install these drivers for audigy on a audigy 1 oem with windows xp french with service pack1. All is working perfectly, eax console, speaker calibrator, etc.

Just one thing : for all users that are running windows NOT IN ENGLISH, you MUST download the original cd of audigy 2 with multilangages from the russian site (the url is page 9 or 10).

If you don't make this, all applications will not work. And there is lots of ameliorations with these ones.

Just for speaker calibration, you should use this version!!

Thanks for this hacking of these drivers.

@dwarfy
At the moment it seems to be that these hacked Chinese software suite is the only possibility to get these components working on a Live!. But if you use it you need to stay at its .252 drivers, because installing the .323 over this Chinese thing doesn't work either.

Well, the drivers installed easily, but the software wouldn't run. It didn't give me any error or anything, it just didn't go. Not that I really care about some crappy Creative labs software, but I thought I'd give it a try at least.

Personally, I would have bought a Philips Acoustic Edge if there ever was a store that actually sold the bloody thing. But hey, shit happens. Great going everyone at Driverheaven! Someone should make Creative look at this forum so that they might realize that if they screw us out of a decent driver, we'll screw them right back

Just a question, so I know what to back up for use later on. Do I actually need to install the 283 drivers before the 323 driver, or can I just install the 323 driver overtop of the original audigy drivers?

I think that you need to have .283 installed to install .323. Which card do you have?

true. With my live and without .283 installed (i.e. with .252), install work, the sound card seems OK in device manager, but no sound.

.283 need to be installed before .323

EDIT : or copy the whole content of .323 update over /drivers of .283, and install it

I have an OEM Audigy1. It doesn't matter, I already backed up both drivers just to make sure.

RIV@NVX or others, do you know wich files are necessaries *only* fot the surround mixer 3.xx version ? because I juste use this software, and I'd like to reduce a bit the size of the package, in order to put it on my CD with drivers, apps, and others cool stuffs.

the /audio/SurMixer is not suffisant (I'm unable to lauch the mixer after an installation with only this dir)

thanks.
