Get it from the Creative official site. I know it comes up when you select Audigy (Win XP) as your sound card.

There are also newer WHQL drivers (32-/64-bit) for Audigy 2 & 4 and X-Fi available @ http://www.station-drivers.com/. Use CTZAPXX.EXE to install them (!! 32/64-bit version).

Also there is a new plugin for Audigy 2 & 4 and X-Fi + XP MC Edition available @ Crative Support.

You say run ctzapxx.exe, so you are overwriting old drivers?
Or are you uninstalling, THEN running ctzapxx.exe?

Something's weird about it. X-Fi has diffrent architecture than 10kx, both driver and hardware, so it shouldn't be working ok. There should exist some kind of bridge however, or driver for 10kx boards, or I missed something. Eventualy I'm dumb

It's something about the .inf file in the X-Fi driver download has install info for a number of older 10kx chips, and, therefore, the X-FI download also must contain a driver for the 10kx chips as well as a driver for the X-Fi chips.

So, I guess upon install of the downloaded X-Fi driver, the install program checks the system for the soundcard and installs or updates using the correct driver (the 10kX driver update or the X-Fi driver, depending on which card it detects).

Overwriting. You need to allow it (if I remember right).

There are also same .1161 drivers availabla on creative support (UK) @ http://uk.europe.creative.com/support/downloads/
Just look for Audigy 4 drivers (!!! NOT FOR THE PRO BUT THE OTHER MODEL).

jiitee:

Thanks. Tried overwriting latest 'official' Creative's for the Audigy ZS 2.
[Driver v1.84.55-R1] I had driver errors with DOOM 3:RoE and SoF II: DH.
That was using the DevManager method. No good.

EDIT:

I didn't like the 1161s. Sounds were weak.
Believe they're also called 'SBA4_WTDRV_LB_2_08_0001' at Creative.

-I got the X-Fi Platinum drivers from Creative. ['SBXF_PCDRV_LB_2_07_0003']
-Extract with WinRAR to a folder, and run setup.exe to.. .
-Uninstall [check the option box] and reboot.
-Install [check the option box] using same setup.exe and reboot.

Great sounding, strong X-Fi Plat's for my ZS 2!
Working great for all games/ iTunes.
Thanks everyone for all the posts and help.

Tried it, but don't like all the stuff that doesn't work

Updated the driver to the xfi release, and worked fine. I just got my ZS the other day.

I'm not sure how improved the sound was, I'll assume you guys are right, But I didn't like the EQ and EAX console crashing, and RightMark 3D also stops working. This tells me there are instabilities in doing this upgrade.

I was easily able to rerun the driver for the 1.81.55 to overwrite the x-fi. No need to restore anything.

I'll wait for a release of the 'new' drivers that is stable with the existing apps, or until someone figures out why they are crashing.

What exactly did you do to get the X-FI drivers and Audigy 4 modded apps (I assume) to work for you?

Can anybody direct us through this?
I would like to know that too.

This is what I do and everything works.
1. Install X-Fi drivers thru device manager.
2. Install modded Audigy 4 software excluding the drivers.
3. Install all updates from the Audigy 4 downloads.

Ok... let me get this straight..

I have downloaded the NEW X-Fi driver ver. 2.07.0004 for the "X-Fi XtremeMusic" from here: http://us.creative.com/support/downloads/download2.asp?Product=14066&dlcentric=8859&Product _Name=X%2DFi+XtremeMusic&OSName=Windows+XP

Is this NEW X-Fi driver package GOOD for this mod??

Second thing, before installing these X-Fi drivers do I have to simply uninstall previous drivers using "DriverCleaner Pro 1.2" or must I do sonething extra?

Third, can I simply double-click on it and follow the setup to undate the drivers or must I have to right-click on it and extract using WinRar and then update the drivers thru the Device Manager?

Forth, about installing the Audigy4 Pro software from the A4 CD, do I have to use the famous "Audigy4Pro-YpoauxP.iso" and install ONLY the "Audio Console" and all the other related A4 software I want EXEPT the drivers, PLUS the "Audigy 4 patch" and the "Speaker Calibrator" that are all from the "Guide: How to install YouP Audigy4 drivers/software"?

Fifth and last, do I need to install even the "Audio Console for Creative Sound Blaster Audigy Audio Cards ver. 1.20.23" and "Creative Audigy 4 Pro Update ver. 3.00.55" downloadable from the main US Creative Support Downloads Center?

Finally.. how the Audigy2-ZS will be recognized by Windows and all related softwares?? Like and A2, A4 or X-Fi??

1. yes those are correct.
2. if you have the original SOFTWARE installed then use DC to uninstall.
3. You MUST manually install drivers, some people say use ctzap but I use device mngr to install drivers.
unpack the drivers (winzip,winrar).
4. yes you Must use the audigy4pro-ypoauxp.iso. You can install all software except the drivers.
I have never installed the "patch" but you may need to, and yes install the speaker calibrater.
5. I would install ALL updates avalible from CL they will install fine.
6. it will be reconized as a Audigy-2ZS.
6.1. It will work, if you clicked the link in my other post you will see.
7. What I have done is dl the a4.iso extrated it to folder then dl all updates from cl for the a4 and then dl the drivers for x-fi unpacked all of them into there respcted folders then made a folder called "updates" then made a cd with all of them together. So my A4 cd has all updates and drivers. Confused yet?

Your link above does not wotk (http://www.solisearch.net/ims/pic.ph...8rzYS&i=244653)
What was it for??

About the correct procedure, I don't really know if the A4 Patch is neaded.

Last, the driver files in the X-Fi package are older then the last available in the last Beta drivers fod A2-ZS...
What do you think about this??? Isn't it better to make only the A2-ZS to A4-Pro mod to have latest drivers???
Some people foudn that installing the X-Fi drivers or just right after theyr installation, theyr computer was unstable with some BSODs and other Windows memory errors. Do you know nothing about this???

Thank you again!

The link is a shot of the apps. and driver.
The drivers i have installed are dated 10-29-05 ver 5.12.14.1144
I have not had any issues using these drivers, infact they even work on my kids 5.1 plat. but I must have access to the live drive, these drivers do not utilize the live drive.
As for problems people may be having I have no idea.

Where and how do I check the versions of the driver files without installing them?
Are there any files where can I just simply right-click (or something similar) to see theyr versions??

About the A4 Patch, it consists in two files (SpkSet.exe & SurMixer.exe) that shoud be replaced to the original after the installation of the "Audio Console" and "Drivers", but I would like to know if they are both from the "Audio Console" or not because if one of them is from the driver package I could porbably make some mess in replacing it.

Can you tell me so?

Look in this folder SBXF_PCDRV_LB_2_07_0004\Drivers\wdm and open "wdma_emu.inf" it will give you all the info you need abou the driver.
I do not use the "pacted" files. From my understanding you need them if you have problems getting those aps to wrok.

Thankx! I got it!

About the A4_Patch, I'll use it if I'll have problems with those apps.
Do you think that the problems might be visible and clear of could they be little and do only some crashes once in a while?

About the Device Manager drivers update... which file should I choose??
The same you said to look in for version??? (SBXF_PCDRV_LB_2_07_0004\Drivers\wdm\wdma_emu.inf)

PIRATA! is on a distinguished road

I have finally installed everything, but now my EAX and Diagnostic and Graphic Equalizer are not functioning.

What should I do??

I have allready installed the "Creative Audigy 4 Pro Update ver. 3.00.55" & "Audio Console for Creative Sound Blaster Audigy Audio Cards ver. 1.20.23" from the Creative Audigy4-Pro Support Download page...

Shoudl I install even the "Creative Audio Console web release for Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi only 2.00.31" from the Creative X-Fi Support Download page??

Or what else??????

Thank you!
