eax problem with sb 4.1

hi there! i just reinstalled my old sb4.1 digital on my winXPpro again, to see whether it would work as nice as it did in win98 times.

coz my audigy does not do eax like it was back in those times. (i m talkin about eax1 in counterstrike.)

now im facing the following problem: i installed the card and i played a bit, but after a while in game, their's a sound bug: the right and the left speaker are not in sync anymore. so there's a delay between the two! that's horrible and i cannot use the card that way.

now, perhaps someone has an idea, what the problem is.

or: any suggestions of newer (modded?!) drivers i could use ?

i tried installing audigy2 drivers (with ctcomp.exe) .. but that f***d up my system.

edit: ok i see for this crap card, there is no driver... gonna look for an sb live or something like this, perhaps it'll do the eax i want, as my audigy does not.

The Live Uni_Pack package on the Creative website should work. It'll run a CT4760 on XP if that's what you have.

Unfortunately, the EAX will be similar to what you experienced on the Audigy 1 as this is the unified Audigy 1/SBLive driver.

The driverguide website should have the old SBLiveXPDriver update that uses the old EAX setup. This was released around the time XP was and was installed over the original cd to update it to work on XP.

If you have your cd you would install that, then the update, then the two PlayCenter updates and you'll have your old kind of EAX.

but i think it's the ct(ES)5880 chip! like listed here so it's not much better than a sb pci128 plus digital out and rear channels...

but (the good "but"

) i found a way to get eax on my audigy. this happened when got back to a system restore point where i had my audigy deactivated in the system. when i activated it, i had to partly reinstall the driver. and the files it used, where maybe from different versions. i dont know, but know my audigy does eax and my next question is, how to have all used dlls and so on, together for a reinstall sometimes ( i opened a new thread for this.)
