Pro Logic or Pro Logic II with sb live 5.1?

There are many software players, that support Dolby Pro Logic II. My sb live 5.1 has the cmss function, wich is something like the old pro logic.
My question is, why does the soundcard always owerride the video player's audio setting?
It means: when cmss is turned off, ANY stereo sound i play comes from all 6 speakers. Even dialogs in the movies. Why not just from the front?
When cmss is turned on, it's like pro logic, but it sounds not so good, since the rear speakers sond like they were under water - no bass, no treble just midtones.

It doesn't matter what i choose in the player (WinDVD platinum, PowerDVD, Radlight, nVidia nVplayer...) the soundcard always overrides it,
What kinda soundcard do I need, to pro logic 2?

First i tried the standard sbLive drivers from creative.
Then the drivers from kxproject - they are interesing, i've played a lot with dsp-s, and routing etc. but it has also that dsp called prologica, wich is just like the cmss in the creative drivers.

Now, i'm trying the new audigy drivers, but.. -
There is sound, i can use the surround mixer, and that's all. The ather apps aren't runnig. There is always an error when i try to start them.

What error messsages are you receiving? You might have to use some of the apps. in the Compaq/Gateway release to be able to use your card correctly. I'd recommend posting your problem here.
You'll find many users that have figured out how to use the newest Audigy 2 drivers with older cards. Your problem makes sense because if you can't get to the EAX console you cannot control CMSS 3D. I've only installed the .283 drivers on a live value but don't have any more experience with using the new drivers other than my own A2.
