I spot them too on Station Drivers and I installed them few hours ago. For now they work fine, they fix problems with EAX Console and Equalizer that didn't lunch with previous 1143 and 1161 drivers. Now all my A2 ZS aplications work again
. These drivers have got WHQL certificate and it says that they support Audigy, Audigy 2/ZS, Audigy 4.

Yea, the fixed the openal32 issues in this new 1162 release. Now the driver installs OpenAL32.dll and wrap_oal.dll (latest versions) directly. In prior drivers, you had to run that OpenAL installer to get these 2 files.

Thanks for the infos everyone.
What's the 'time stamp'/date on these 1162s? Anyone know if they were released at Creative yet, and as what [Aud4 or X-Fi]? I believe the 1161s were Audigy 4s, and the 1143s X-Fi. I could just try for myself but.. . ![]() EDIT: Thanks Forty7. That last part "DriverVer=08/29/2005, 5.12.10.1162", very nice. Also, interesting info at Creative Labs Forum from JohnZS. I tried them because of that, they're very clear and working great so far.

Just installed the 1162's on my Audigy 2 but couldnt get the A2 ZS apps to launch after install. Hehe back to the Creative Audio Console for me.....
1) Uninstalled all Creative apps 2) Uninstalled Creative drivers using "ctzapxx.exe" 3) Ran Driver Cleaner in Safe Mode 4) Installed the new 1162 driver using "ctzapxx.exe" 5) Installed AudioHQ, Surround Mixer, Speaker Settings & EAX Console successfully but none of them would launch. Yeah I got the same. The EAX and GraphEQ wouldn't launch.
Even the AudioConsole was blank in those areas. Un/Installed everything Creative, cleansweeped w/ DC, installed all drivers in correct order, etc. Bad again w/ Doom3 betas. Un/Installed the 1162s and insanely -everything -works now. Okay, I'll take it. ![]() Sound great in BF2, btw.

I've just installed them over 1161 with new Audio Console (AudCon_PCApp_LB_1_20_23.exe) which you can find on Creative Support web site and everything works fine. As I said they've got WHQL Certificate so they should work without any problems, but you know Creative's drivers
. Nothing is easy with them .

I have to agree. The 1162's sound much more crisp compared to the 1143's. Great so far.

Install all of the apps first including the creative drivers and make sure all apps work. Then, download and extract the .1162 drivers (or any driver you wish to use) and update them manually by pointing to the *.inf file and reboot. Reset all of you preferences with the apps and all should work fine.

Sorted, installed on top of the youpax a4 v1 audigy 4 modded drivers and all ive got to say is - complete success!
No errors, no problems, they installed fine. I updated the inf file manually within device manager. No EQ problems whatsoever.. It does seem to sound a little bit crisper. Thumbs up here

Few questions:
I'm currently using modded youpax a4 1.02 drivers. If I'd want to install these drivers, should I remove the modded ones an then install these or can I just overwrite them? Can somebody please explain this .inf thing? I don't know shit about device manager.

Hi there,
Yeah it should work, it did with me. Although i upgraded from the youpax v1 to audigy 4 (softmod) before updating the inf. Download the audigy 2.08 (.1162) drivers if you havn't already done so and extract the file using winrar or other compatible extracter. If winrar's already installed, simply right click on the downloaded file and click on extract here. This will extract the archive into the folder you downloaded the .1162 drivers to. Now the inf file will be within the root of that folder, under the folders - \Drivers\wdm Right click on my computer on the desktop, then on Hardware, then on device manager. Open up the root box - Sound, video and game controllers, by clicking on the + sign, which will open up a list of components installed. Look for your sound card driver, for example, 'youpax' or 'Audigy 4' Once you've located it, right click on it and select 'update driver' On the first screen, tick 'no not this time', then click on 'next'. once you've done that click on 'install from a list or specific location', then click next again. Once you've passed that screen there will be two options, choose the latter which is 'Don't search. I will choose the driver to install' , make sure its selected and again click on next. Click on the 'Have Disk' tab, then browse, now you will need to locate the .inf file. Theres a few inf files within the \Drivers\wdmfolder, choose any of them, all of them will lead you to a succesful update. Once youve selected a .inf file, the name of the driver should appear, creative 2 zs. Follow the instructions (next, next ect) restart your machine.. Hey presto.

I was using the standard Audigy 2 ZS install of utilities and drivers and upgraded th drivers using the setup.exe last night. Damned good. The sound is far crisper and there seem to be more decernable sounds in BF2. All the Audigy 2 apps seem to work fine too.
