Creative Sound Blaster Audigy unified series Beta driver with OpenAL support 2.08.000

Noticed this today on creative's sight after looking for any new stuff for my
old Audigy Platinum. Does anyone know if these are the same beta drivers
that were recently released from station drivers?

Downloaded and checked the INF against the 1162 WHQL available from Station Drivers,

Looks like there is nothing new in these, other than the Creative set is beta and non-WHQL.

No, it is the same set that came out on Station Drivers last week. Check the modified date, version, driverver from the 2 inf's I posted, everything is the same.

Yup, all the info is the same, all the files, and the sound. Same.
But it's a psychological thing for me, I'll use the Creative's DL centre.
Until they do me wrong.

Glad to see they finally posted at their site for all the 'uneducated'.
Although all the reg users seem to be posting is
'OMG my ____ doesn't work anymore with these."
I guess that's why they don't post every beta realeased.

Hmm: Didn't the last betas [6 mths ago] provide full EAX/ AdvHD?
And by playing any games you will instantly notice the
openAL improvements. Good job Creative, ty for the info!

They are good drivers though, w00t.

Yes, they did. The last betas didn't become offcial, so that's why this one has got the same fixes. The good thing is that we've finally got one driver package, all in one. Finaly we don't have to mess with few pathes

There is one big advantage to this driver set. I have an OEM A2ZS from HP/Compaq, and those with OEM cards can't update their driver. However, this driver installed perfectly for me, so maybe it will work with other OEMs. Worth a try.
