Audigy 1 + Audigy 2 drivers = No rear sound
does anyone have a fix for this other than that of turning CMSS on? Does the audigy 2 gives the same problem (no sound in rear speakers for plain stereo source eg. mp3)?
thanks in advance

Have you enabled CMSS after all?
Because, there IS NO other way (since your MP3s ARE NOT 5.1).

yup, with CMSS it works like a charm except that in games it messes up sound with that effect too! if i turn it off, i only get music on the two front speakers. With audigy 1 drivers i always get a copy of the front sound on the rear speakers:/ Well, maybe i need to wait for new drivers to come...

Or maybe revert to old drivers.
