Which driver for Best Gaming Sound?
Hey guys,
I have a Audigy 2 ZS and 5.1 headphones. I dont know wich driver should I select for Best Gaming Sound ? maybe u can help me? I play the game Americas Army... I tell it u maybe it makes any differences for the driver choice.

they are modded drivers - designed to give you emulated functionality earlier cards do not have - i think

For best sound in AA, grab the following from Creatives Audigy 2 download page,

[color=#0000ff]Creative Sound Blaster Audigy unified series Beta driver with OpenAL support 2.08.0002[/color] ([color=#222222]24.99 MB) )[/color]

Then go here,

and download the latest OpenAL installer for Windows. Also in th ingame settings, make sure to uncheck Use System Driver. This forces the game to use OpenAl you installed, instead of the old version of it that comes with the game.

Is the SBA2_PCDrvBeta_LB_2_08_0002 driver better than the NewYearv1.2 and YouP-PAX-A4v1.02 driver?
ok installing the driver and selecting in game use System Driver... thats all?

I find the new beta from creative to be far better than the YouP/New Year set. Ansd you need to uncheck use System Driver, not check it (don't forget to d/l and install the latest OpenAL from the other link as well.

In the in game Settings under Audio, there is a setting called "Use System Driver", uncheck it (the default is checked). When it is checked it causes the game to use the OpenAL that came with the game (which is an older version than the one you downloaded).

Install the driver first. The OpenAL diver is included in the installer for the drivers, so running the openAL installer is not necessarily needed. After installing the drivers, have a quick look in your Windos\System32 folder and check the file version. If it is version 6.14.357.9, then you don't need to run it, if not, go ahead and run it.

As for the SDK, unless you plan on writing a program that uses OpenAL, you don't need it.

the sound is nice but im not sure that this driver is mouch better than the YouP-PAX-A4v1.02 driver. anyway thx for your help everything is working fine !
